Roger McDowell

1986's 17th-place pitcher (tied, kind of ironically, with Dave Smith), collecting 5 points for each hot foot delivered on camera.

Closers seem to get some love, and we need someone in the range of the 1988 team. Randall K. Myers?

Voters loved to love Myers, at least 3 points worth for 16th place that divisional championship season.

Great quiz. Missed it by that much.

Thanks. I couldn't have done it without sporadically recognized performances.

Awards voting data is interesting stuff that can be sliced a lot of ways. We remember the winners but looking at who else also ran and where they finished is really useful.

Did you know Mookie Wilson once won MVP support? It's true! But here's the funky part: The only year he ever appeared on a ballot, it was an AL ballot for the Blue Jays. What's more, it was 1989, the year he got traded. So somebody gave him some MVP love for a season of merely 54 games.

I wish all PS awards (MotY, RotY) had 10 slots on the ballot.

I wish all postseason awards had Mets names engraved on them.
