was high on him, seemed to have tinkered with some things, delivery, and had a good yet for AAA in Baltimore.

didn't quite work out that way.

The anti-Scott Rice.

Another piece of crap who wore No. 46.

Had this weird habit of striding toward the first base line and trying to generate leverage by falling toward the plate. Seemed to affect both his speed and (particularly) his control. Kent Tekulve would fall and catch himself during his motion, but at least he stepped directly toward the plate, and so not waste his drive. Stepping in a different direction than you're pitching just seems to be fighting yourself. I got the idea that it drove Terry a little nuts, if not Warthan.

Anyways, I thought, being that this submarining thing was new to him, year two might've been a better measure of whether he'd pull it off. Good luck in Colorado.

Always looked to me like he was pitching on the deck of a listing ship. Which, y'know, considering the roster he was on, sounds about right.

I waited for him to do something special. He waited too.

I believed. I imitated his motion when I played wiffle ball. When my parents would take me to Brooklyn, I'd call it Burke-yn. When the other kids were twerking, I was burking.

WHY, GREG, WHY?!

Who?

You know him. Sidearm relief pitcher. Had a very good May.

Who?

Come on. He pitched in, like, 30 games this past year.

Who?

It may be a symptom of how relatively competent the bullpen was for the balance of 2013 that I really came to get a very Sisk/Rojas vibe off this guy every time he showed his face shuttling in from LaGuardia in the second half; perhaps I instinctively needed someone to dread. Gave up three home runs all year. Felt like more. Will probably strike out Wright in a bases-loaded situation next year just to tell my selective memory to shut up.
