Zvon Old-Timey Member Posted September 29, 2013 Posted September 29, 2013 Theres one! 45 leads the league!
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted September 29, 2013 Posted September 29, 2013 Young gets on base. AND GETS THE STEAL!Any other team might've rolled over. Milwaukee had incentive to defend against it.
Zvon Old-Timey Member Posted September 29, 2013 Posted September 29, 2013 YEAAAAAAA. Lucroy hesitates!46!
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted September 29, 2013 Posted September 29, 2013 BANG! BANG! Stealing third with a lefthanded batter.Let's steal home.

Zvon Old-Timey Member Posted September 29, 2013 Posted September 29, 2013 [bigpurple:bvemprfx]WHOA![/bigpurple:bvemprfx]Throw beats Young. Young beats the tag!
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted September 29, 2013 Posted September 29, 2013 Last time I remember a guy stealing at the end of the year when everybody knew he'd be stealing is when John Stearns was going for record for steals by a catcher. If I recall correctly, his success rate went down dramatically the last few games.
Zvon Old-Timey Member Posted September 29, 2013 Posted September 29, 2013 Great piece G.http://www.faithandfearinflushing.com/2013/09/29/as-we-began-piazza-ended/
Zvon Old-Timey Member Posted September 29, 2013 Posted September 29, 2013 Great Piazza booth talk. I'd like to see the complete interview the third guys did for SNY. Wonder how much it would cost for just that interview.
Zvon Old-Timey Member Posted September 29, 2013 Posted September 29, 2013 Great talk. Yikes, now the Piazza days are becoming nostalgic. We're all gettin old.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted September 29, 2013 Posted September 29, 2013 I just noticed Al Jackson was on the field. Did he get inducted while I wasn't looking or was he there in a guesty capacity?
Gwreck Old-Timey Member Posted September 29, 2013 Posted September 29, 2013 He was introduced as being on the Hall of Fame committee and also presented the award to Minor.

Edgy MD Site Manager Posted September 29, 2013 Posted September 29, 2013 Some serious hoity toities drinking wine behind John Franco as he's being interviewed.
Gwreck Old-Timey Member Posted September 29, 2013 Posted September 29, 2013 Great story on the WFAN broadcast (RIP) from Howie about the Piazza homer off Wagner in 1998, how the stadium went quiet and the only thing he and Gary heard were each other in adjoining broadcast booths going crazy on the air.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted September 29, 2013 Posted September 29, 2013 Sheesh, enough Mike Piazza. It's Eric Young, Jr. Day.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted September 29, 2013 Posted September 29, 2013 D.B. Cooper is a terrible ump.
Zvon Old-Timey Member Posted September 29, 2013 Posted September 29, 2013 Edgy MD wrote:D.B. Cooper is a terrible ump.Agreed #1.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted September 29, 2013 Posted September 29, 2013 I'll give credit where it's due. Bucknor is a rare ump in that he stays in shape. And he didn't take Terry's bait, either.Pretty lousy call, though. Not a big league mistake either.Amazing that Lagares gets all these assists on offline throws.
Zvon Old-Timey Member Posted September 29, 2013 Posted September 29, 2013 What an exciting inning. I assume. I missed most of it. Saw the last minute.
Zvon Old-Timey Member Posted September 29, 2013 Posted September 29, 2013 I saw up to the Young throw to the plate, and then did catch the tag on the Lagares throw. On the Young one, he was surprised the guy kept going.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted September 29, 2013 Posted September 29, 2013 AT&T Trivia: Four Career Walkoff Hormers for the Mets1) Mike Piazza2) _________3) _________4) _________I'll say Beltran, Ventura, and HoJo.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted September 29, 2013 Posted September 29, 2013 Henderson Alvarez throws nine no-hit innings but his team has no runs.I'd keep him in indefinitely. Last day of the season. Go ahead and blow your arm out.

Edgy MD Site Manager Posted September 29, 2013 Posted September 29, 2013 I don't know about y'all, but I say Tovar has lived up to his billing defensively. He's stroonnnng.
bmfc1 Old-Timey Member Posted September 29, 2013 Posted September 29, 2013 Agreed Edgy. Tovar looks good.Meanwhile, why couldn't Terry use Gee for this inning so that Gee could get his 200th IP? Gee said that this was important to him.

Zvon Old-Timey Member Posted September 29, 2013 Posted September 29, 2013 Okay, I'm here for the duration. People who have called me on the phone today during this game must think I'm a real dick. I'm like "yea, okay, whatever, gotta go." Actually I don't say that, but I want to.Did he say Chris Jones?
