Guest John Cougar Lunchbucket Guests Posted September 1, 2013 Posted September 1, 2013 Today is Father's Day in Australia.Ohlendorf has decent numbers but concern was raised over a 10mph drop in the velocity of his fastball during his last start. Niese opposes.Sunday nite start sure to compete well with Breaking Bad.CBS radio is counting down the top 500 of all time this weekend. 104: Take on Me. 103: Baby Love. 102: Some Kind of Wonderful
bmfc1 Old-Timey Member Posted September 1, 2013 Posted September 1, 2013 Nice tie-in JCL to this IGT as the Nationals play "Take On Me" after "Take Me Out To The Ballgame." They put the lyrics on the screen and when they get to: "I'll be gone/In a day or two", the volume is lowered and the crowd sings along.
Guest John Cougar Lunchbucket Guests Posted September 1, 2013 Posted September 1, 2013 I did not know that. Obvs, I was hurting for relevance.101 was Layla and 100 was Drive My Car by the way.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted September 1, 2013 Posted September 1, 2013 What could be more relevant than a Nats crowd singing about being gone in a day or two? HAR!
dgwphotography Old-Timey Member Posted September 1, 2013 Posted September 1, 2013 This is that moment when I realize the Bryce Harper is 2 days younger than my daughter... I'm old...
G-Fafif Old-Timey Member Posted September 1, 2013 Posted September 1, 2013 Eric Young tops this countdown:Eric Young, Jr. - LFDaniel Murphy - 2BJosh Satin - 3BLucas Duda - 1BTravis d'Arnaud - CJuan Lagares - RFMatt den Dekker - CFOmar Quintanilla - SSJonathon Niese - LHPAnd comin' in at No. 38...Vic Black.
Guest John Cougar Lunchbucket Guests Posted September 1, 2013 Posted September 1, 2013 I was hoping Vic Black would come out firing in 77 or 88 or something like that. 38 is a little Zambronic for me.
Guest John Cougar Lunchbucket Guests Posted September 1, 2013 Posted September 1, 2013 I salute the return of Loco Doodoo.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted September 1, 2013 Posted September 1, 2013 So Black, Lutz & Byrdak have been promoted - but Carson sent back down as the front office claims the Vegas bullpen is too thin right now.
Guest themetfairy Guests Posted September 1, 2013 Posted September 1, 2013 RBIs by Murphy and Duda give the Mets a 2-0 lead in the top of the first.
Zvon Old-Timey Member Posted September 1, 2013 Posted September 1, 2013 That was a nice start. Back to back doubles by Young and Muffy. Duds line RBI single was hit pretty wickedly.Hope Niese has a good night. Lets screw these Nats outta contention.
Guest LeiterWagnerFasterStrongr Guests Posted September 1, 2013 Posted September 1, 2013 UpperDekker, indeed. Phwoar.

Zvon Old-Timey Member Posted September 1, 2013 Posted September 1, 2013 The pic I used for the kaboom above must be from the Expos very first game ever in 1969. I just noticed that now.

Guest Rockin' Doc Guests Posted September 1, 2013 Posted September 1, 2013 A lot of hungry young Mets feasting on Ohlendorf's offering. Seriously, the Mets line up looks like they emptied the rosters of Vegas and Binghamton.Niese gives one back in a long second inning. Needs to get Hairston here (and does) so Ohlendorf will lead off next inning.
Zvon Old-Timey Member Posted September 1, 2013 Posted September 1, 2013 Murph has been showing surprising pop lately. A lot of deep drives, half of which are dropping (I'd like to think). Almost hits another gapper but that clown Harper got in the way.
Zvon Old-Timey Member Posted September 1, 2013 Posted September 1, 2013 Yikes, Satin bangs one off the CF wall. Ha, the ball confused Harper. He sucks.
Guest Rockin' Doc Guests Posted September 1, 2013 Posted September 1, 2013 Harper danced that Satin drive into a double. Come on Lucas.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted September 1, 2013 Posted September 1, 2013 Found a spot over Harper's head that he couldn't reach, but Rendon keeps us from scoring.Hopefully they can get a few more runs out of Ohlendorf's meatballs before Johnson hooks him.
Zvon Old-Timey Member Posted September 1, 2013 Posted September 1, 2013 Nice play by Satin but what I'm noticing about him the most is that he has too many moving parts working at odds with each other in everything that he does. The throw could have been made from below or the side but he brings his arm all the way back and above into firing position.Hey, I thought dennyDek was the best fielding outfielder in the whole wide world of sports. I think he's reached three already tonight that he couldn't hang on to.

Guest Kong76 Guests Posted September 1, 2013 Posted September 1, 2013 Werth really didn't need to climb fence, hammin' it ...
Guest LeiterWagnerFasterStrongr Guests Posted September 1, 2013 Posted September 1, 2013 On a pitch about a foot-and-a-half out of the zone, no less.Ohlendorf may have gained velocity post-surgery, but damn, if that fastball isn't Old-Parnell-straight.
Guest John Cougar Lunchbucket Guests Posted September 1, 2013 Posted September 1, 2013 We're clobbering most everything.
