The ugly defensive inning (lost balls, passed balls, wild pitches, 4-pitch walks) and then the Byrd bases-loaded K in the bottom half just sucked all the optimistic air out of this game - yet another one that's destined for well over three-hour territory.

Terrible game to watch, except it was a beautiful and we had fun. Wheeler is hard to watch when he's not on, very slow. Even though Byrd had a tough time in the field Wheeler by then was getting hit hard, there was no surprise at the first home run, I think that was the third ball in a row hit hard to the outfield.

Absolutely disgusting to torrent of boos that Byrd got for his mishaps in the outfield. Although I think he paid for the overall poor team play.

We stayed for the Mr. Met dash,Lorcan thought he was going to be allowed to hangout and do whatever he wanted...but no, you get heared around quickly instead.

I see from Tumblr that Byrd had a rough day in right. And Muffy also lost one in the sun? Yikes. Met fans who boo Byrd for a ruff few plays like he had suck goose weenies.
Look at the way he tried to stick with both fly balls.

Napped through innings 1-6 and caught 7-9 in the car on XM and then in the backyard for the last inning, also on XM. Didn't feel like I missed all that much worth tuning in to.

I gotta say, I lost interest in the 2013 Mets with their performance in Washington. They had a chance and didn't go get it. I hate to be that guy, but they couldn't afford the kind of effort they gave in DC that weekend and they gave it good.

This game looked a lot like any August game of the last 2 years. I know.
