I had forgotten how big Dallas Green was. Either that, or I had forgotten that Gary Coleman had been an umpire.

Also not a small dude: Mark Clark. And speaking of non-small dudes, I was honestly surprised to see Frank Howard there. Didn't remember him being a coach at that time.

I remember Howard returning as a coach about that time because of the Diamond Dashes. He was simultaneously inspiriing and terrifying at first base. Kids would run to first, see Howard yelling and waving at them to go to second, and they'd kick it into a gear they didn't know they had.

Came across a poster of Howard in the bowels of Nationals Stadium this weekend that made me feel simultaneously warm and afraid. I should have photophoned it.
