Feel better about this game taking place today than on June 6 when it was originally scheduled.

nymr83 Old-Timey Member Posted July 26, 2013 Posted July 26, 2013 Lets sweep this shit and end their season early!
Guest John Cougar Lunchbucket Guests Posted July 26, 2013 Posted July 26, 2013 Young was originally in the lineup but late scratch with knee issues.Lagares - CFMurphy - 2BWright - 3BByrd - RFDavis - 1BBrown - LFRecker - CQuintanilla - SSMejia - RHP
Guest John Cougar Lunchbucket Guests Posted July 26, 2013 Posted July 26, 2013 Muffy hits his first home run since 2009, 1-0
Guest LeiterWagnerFasterStrongr Guests Posted July 26, 2013 Posted July 26, 2013 Hit a long way, yes.
Guest John Cougar Lunchbucket Guests Posted July 26, 2013 Posted July 26, 2013 Mejia whiffs Harper. Nice start!
Guest LeiterWagnerFasterStrongr Guests Posted July 26, 2013 Posted July 26, 2013 One batter and all, but... he made Harper look silly. And it wasn't just the stuff, too-- he set him up with a fastball in, then moved outside, then struck him out with breaking stuff down-and-in (Harper's wheelhouse, apparently).
Guest LeiterWagnerFasterStrongr Guests Posted July 26, 2013 Posted July 26, 2013 Lombardozzi and ZimmOne work singles on good inside pitches-- Zimmerman getting sawed off at the bat handle-- and Mejia's got some stew to simmer down here.
Zvon Old-Timey Member Posted July 26, 2013 Posted July 26, 2013 I hope when he was visualizing his start Mejia looked beyond Harper.BIG K of LaCockaRoche
Guest LeiterWagnerFasterStrongr Guests Posted July 26, 2013 Posted July 26, 2013 (edited) Gets Werth 0-2 on two swing-and-misses, then induces the roller to Murphy.I counted five (Good Lord!) swing-and-miss strikes in that inning.I'm not sure if it's because it's been so long since we saw him last (and, of course, SSS and all) but Oh Jenrry looks like a completely different, better guy. Guest John Cougar Lunchbucket Guests Posted July 26, 2013 Posted July 26, 2013 Mejia strands two on base in the first.Very excited about this game. It's almost like I have early strain of 'pennant fever' More like "screw-this-up-and-you-won't-get-pennant-fever fever"

If he can keep close to the strike zone and away from the bats he's gonna be fine. I liked the control I'm seeing.
Guest LeiterWagnerFasterStrongr Guests Posted July 26, 2013 Posted July 26, 2013 Four up, three down (with an infield hit off David Wright's arm in there). Kid continues looking good. As Z said, the control-- mostly strikes, mostly on/around the edges-- is notable.
Guest John Cougar Lunchbucket Guests Posted July 26, 2013 Posted July 26, 2013 Lagares doubles with 2 out.
Zvon Old-Timey Member Posted July 26, 2013 Posted July 26, 2013 I don't know about you guys but I find 14 doubles for Laggy with his limited playing time to be very impressive.
Guest John Cougar Lunchbucket Guests Posted July 26, 2013 Posted July 26, 2013 Whoa Muffy has hit his second HR since 2009!! 3-0
Guest John Cougar Lunchbucket Guests Posted July 26, 2013 Posted July 26, 2013 Wright wrobbed at the fence.
Guest LeiterWagnerFasterStrongr Guests Posted July 26, 2013 Posted July 26, 2013 MURPH TAG!MURPH THROW!MURPH WANT ALL THE SCHAEFER!
Guest John Cougar Lunchbucket Guests Posted July 26, 2013 Posted July 26, 2013 What number is Mejia wearing? Hawkins has his old 32.

I wanted the Shea stands to be behind him and that's the only way I could get it done.

Guest John Cougar Lunchbucket Guests Posted July 26, 2013 Posted July 26, 2013 He was NEVER a 32.Thanks!
Zvon Old-Timey Member Posted July 26, 2013 Posted July 26, 2013 Laggy walking in a game is as rare as Muffy smackin 2 KaBOOMs.Laggy steals a base for the first time and Zimm is afraid of Daniel, as well he should be. Murphy rips another but it don't fall in due to Harpers bazaar catch.
Zvon Old-Timey Member Posted July 26, 2013 Posted July 26, 2013 Sheesh. Is Harper an attention whore? Hey kid, if you're hurt sit down. Take the rest of the day off. Please?
