bmfc1 Old-Timey Member Posted July 4, 2013 Posted July 4, 2013 Swing the frigging bat. What the hell was he looking for?
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted July 4, 2013 Posted July 4, 2013 Our innings all seem to be ending on called strikes three, with men in position to score.
Zvon Old-Timey Member Posted July 4, 2013 Posted July 4, 2013 How could he look at that last pitch? It was a pitchers pitch, but try and foul it at least. Swing the frakin bat.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted July 4, 2013 Author Posted July 4, 2013 That's the nature of slumping hitters: unsure when they should be aggressive and aggressive when they should be more selective.Murphy's displayed both sides of that today.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted July 4, 2013 Author Posted July 4, 2013 I think the tattoo on the forearm of Eric Chavez is his locker combination.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted July 4, 2013 Posted July 4, 2013 Yeah, people take pitches on the edge for strike three all the time. He clearly thought it was breaking out of the strike zone. Happens all the time. Bad judgement, but it happens. It's not like there's something morally wrong with taking. Batting is hard. Judging pitches --- also hard.Meanwhile Ross goes the other way by swiinging at a ball out of the strike zone for strike three. Didn't he throw the bat a night or two ago also?

Zvon Old-Timey Member Posted July 4, 2013 Posted July 4, 2013 Oh, you were talkng about it slipping out of his hands. Yes, that too.
Fman99 Old-Timey Member Posted July 4, 2013 Posted July 4, 2013 Free bonus baseball! Helps to counter for the nap I took that cost me innings 2-7.
Zvon Old-Timey Member Posted July 4, 2013 Posted July 4, 2013 LMAO. Keith. After Gary says all that Mex says "Its also extra innings."

Zvon Old-Timey Member Posted July 4, 2013 Posted July 4, 2013 HA! Campana sucks. Niewy almost sucked.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted July 4, 2013 Author Posted July 4, 2013 (edited) Nice of Campana, with all that speed, to do us favors by being thrown out on the bases three times today. Edited July 4, 2013 by Guest
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted July 4, 2013 Posted July 4, 2013 Nieuwenhuis just threw out the fastest guy in the league.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted July 4, 2013 Author Posted July 4, 2013 I don't say this often, but I agree with the bunt here.

Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted July 4, 2013 Author Posted July 4, 2013 Bah! ... leadoff hit is followed by three pop-ups, only one of which even had the decency to be a fair ball.
Zvon Old-Timey Member Posted July 4, 2013 Posted July 4, 2013 Torres with two fine innings And Byrd starts the 11th with a lead off single. LETS
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted July 4, 2013 Author Posted July 4, 2013 (edited) At least Q had the good manners not to pop out after five outs in a row went no further than shallow RF. Edited July 4, 2013 by Guest
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted July 4, 2013 Author Posted July 4, 2013 Nice work by Torres -- unfortunately not a promising inning coming up with Valdespin, Nieuwenhuis, Young & Murphy to face their only LHP.Terry could PH with Buck but I doubt it.
Zach Thornton Syracuse Mets - AAA LHP On Sunday, the southpaw tossed five shutout innings as the bulk pitcher. He gave up 2 hits, walked 2 and had 5 strikeouts. Explore Zach Thornton News >
