G-Fafif Old-Timey Member Posted May 31, 2013 Posted May 31, 2013 Colin McHugh conscientiously takes the ball as the sixth starter for the tendinitic Niese. And walking back his Niemannesque tweet (why is it those who do the least tweet the most?).Collin McHugh deleted a tweet about the Mets sweeping the Yankees after it got too much attention and debate. McHugh (@Collin_McHugh) had tweeted: You can call us the NYC Sanitation Dept. because we just SWEPT the yankees from Queens to the Bronx. McHugh explained Friday: I dont want any negative publicity or anything like that. Obviously, when you tweet something, whatever it is, youre on the Mets, so Mets fans are going to love it and Mets fans are going to hate it. Thats kind of the way it is.Im proud of the way this team is playing right now. So maybe it got ahold of me a little bit. I think the thing to focus on is were playing well. Were enjoying it. Were having fun. It feels good to win. But I took it down. Its not worth it. I dont want to distract from anything that these guys are doing.Attention? Debate? Such seriousness!
Ceetar Grand Central Contributor Posted June 1, 2013 Posted June 1, 2013 That's so tame. Was the 'attention' on Twitter? (I missed it if so) or is he referring to Rubin and the Beats? It was certainly a more intelligent tweet than "Yay, we're really rolling!" I like jokes..lighten up people, funny tweets might be the only added value from McHugh this year. (although I hope not)

Zvon Old-Timey Member Posted June 1, 2013 Posted June 1, 2013 Mr Q singles in the first and is stranded at second. Time for McHugh to do his duty.
Zvon Old-Timey Member Posted June 1, 2013 Posted June 1, 2013 Or his dooty. Nah, could have been worse. Fish plate 1 in the first : Ground out/ walk/walk/K/RBI single, runner out trying to advance to third. Nice throw by Ankie.
Zvon Old-Timey Member Posted June 1, 2013 Posted June 1, 2013 Ankiel walks in the second and tries to steal second. YER OUT! 1-0 Fish after 1 and a half.Gary does not like that roof close on nice days.

Edgy MD Site Manager Posted June 1, 2013 Posted June 1, 2013 Ozuna, the hundreds of people in attendance could all tell that was a trap. You're a rookie. Don't be a big fat liar.

Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted June 1, 2013 Posted June 1, 2013 That pick-off was Carson's best pitch of the year.

Zvon Old-Timey Member Posted June 1, 2013 Posted June 1, 2013 So we are back to being totally lethargic?
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted June 1, 2013 Posted June 1, 2013 We're back to giving too much credit to too many pitchers ... particularly young ones.
Zvon Old-Timey Member Posted June 1, 2013 Posted June 1, 2013 3 hits in the 7th.*yawn. Buck has seen 9 pitches today and struck out 3 times! Wake the fuck up Mets.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted June 1, 2013 Posted June 1, 2013 It's time to replace Carson with ... well anyone; Byrdak, Leathersich, somebody.Hell, at this point I'd replace him with Leno.

Zvon Old-Timey Member Posted June 1, 2013 Posted June 1, 2013 I guess this was inevitable. Do the HIGHLY improbable and sweep the Skanks, and then get overpowered by the lowly Marlins. If they sweep us tomorrow I'll be very disappointed. Yes, I've conceded this game, 8-0 them after 7.
