What does $4 million buy us in today's market? We'll see this afternoon, come 1:05 PM.

Pettitbone vs. Marcum.

I'm hopeful for Marcum.

Gary mentioned this last night though, in letting Gee go for the 7th. It was just one bad inning and why not give him another to go out on a good note, plus he's part of your rotation, You want to trust him and let him pitch. But with Marcum today on a limited pitch count, although it's still reasonable, you might want to hold back a reliever Inning. Of course, one of the relievers that pitched yesterday is leaving anyway, so maybe it doesn't really matter.

Marcum has usually been pretty good when he has been healthy.

This will be the 150th start of his career and he has a lifetime 3.71 ERA as a starter. He very rarely gets blown out...but he's not likely to pitch a shutout either. If the offense can help a little, he should keep the team in most games he starts.

I'm looking for a quality start out of Marcum today..6 or more IP..3 or less ER

He was pretty decent in Milwaukee when healthy. I am hopeful..

Duda goes back to the wall to grab a log drive by Howard. Scoreless first for Marcum, 2 Ks and an infield single.

Gah. A DP and a questionable called strike three to Wright ends a possible threat in the first. No hits but two on from a HBP and walk.

Orange brim caps look much better with the blue tops imo. I mean, if you have to have them at all.

Whos da man? Valde drives in the first run of the game following a Davis double.

Why didn't Buck slide down laterally to block that? If he did it would have bounced right into him. Stupid effort.
Phils take the lead on a wild pitch. Marcum looked good and in control to start. Could he be tired already?

Marcum had a good quick inning there. TIME TO GET HITTIN AND SCORIN AND THE OTHER STUFF.

"Dave hoping to be a part of that (the ASG)"- Foxhead. How could that be in doubt?
Hey, lets make sure, no matter how he does, that he is the starting third baseman for the NL.

When does it officially become a rally? After a run is scored? After three reach?

I think you have to score one or two first.

But we DO have quite the stew matierial here, though.

Is that pirate language? I've got beers on me Hawkins, and I'm fair scuppered, lads. It's time to hoist the white flag.
