Mex17 Old-Timey Member Posted April 7, 2013 Posted April 7, 2013 I think that this is a fair and appropriate thing to track over the season. . .both are under One Year-$4 million contracts.Did Sandy make the right call? It's obviously early, but so far the answer is "no".http://espn.go.com/mlb/player/_/id/28507/mike-pelfrey
smg58 Old-Timey Member Posted April 7, 2013 Posted April 7, 2013 Sandy made the call I would have made, so I can't be too judgmental on this one. But it's worth seeing how this pans out.
Ceetar Grand Central Contributor Posted April 7, 2013 Posted April 7, 2013 I would've signed both. But at the time of non-tendering, they didn't expect Pelfrey to be ready, which was probably reasonable given that 4/1 was less than a year from Tommy John. I think these 'fast healers' like Pelfrey may be worth more than they seem.

ashie62 Old-Timey Member Posted April 7, 2013 Posted April 7, 2013 At least until Marcum pitches, Pelfrey is the winner for as long as he has a positive w.a.r.
Guest The Second Spitter Guests Posted April 8, 2013 Posted April 8, 2013 Just wait til Piechucker forgets his mouth guard and gets launched into the Target sign.
TransMonk Old-Timey Member Posted April 11, 2013 Posted April 11, 2013 Pelf's second start:2 IP, 8 H, 6 ER, 1 K, Loss
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted April 11, 2013 Posted April 11, 2013 A BB-R WAR of -0.2.Go, Marcum! He might win this one sitting down!
