batmagadanleadoff Old-Timey Member Posted September 16, 2012 Posted September 16, 2012 Which Mets pitcher struck out the most opposing batters in a single season among pitchers not named Seaver, Gooden or Cone?
batmagadanleadoff Old-Timey Member Posted September 16, 2012 Author Posted September 16, 2012 You'd have to wade through more than a baker's dozen worth of Mets single season strikeout marks before coming up on a pitcher not named Seaver, Gooden or Cone. In his first season as a Met, Pedro Martinez struck out 208 batters, good for 14th all-time (but tied with Seaver) on the list of single season strikeouts by a Mets pitcher.
