Edgy MD Site Manager Posted September 12, 2012 Posted September 12, 2012 The Mets reject your false values, your substitute realities, your substitute coffee creamers, and the myths you weave to blind the gullible. They reject your vision for the country and they reject your manuscript submission. They reject the false promises of prophets since fled. And if they are true to themselves, they will reject the creeping despair that threatens to cripple the franchise. These are the men who will make that stand.[*:93a2aaff]Tejada, ss[/*:m:93a2aaff][*:93a2aaff]Murphy, 2b[/*:m:93a2aaff][*:93a2aaff]Wright, 3b[/*:m:93a2aaff][*:93a2aaff]Hairston, rf[/*:m:93a2aaff][*:93a2aaff]Duda, 1b[/*:m:93a2aaff][*:93a2aaff]Shoppach, c[/*:m:93a2aaff][*:93a2aaff]Bay, lf[/*:m:93a2aaff][*:93a2aaff]Torres, cf[/*:m:93a2aaff][*:93a2aaff]Harvey, sp[/*:m:93a2aaff][/list:o:93a2aaff]

G-Fafif Old-Timey Member Posted September 12, 2012 Posted September 12, 2012 Davey Johnson, highly observant, likens Not Shea Stadium to "a morgue" in D.C. radio appearance. He didn't compare Terry Collins to a "funeral director, but more depressing," however.

Guest themetfairy Guests Posted September 12, 2012 Posted September 12, 2012 Harvey strikes out the side in the top of the first - not too shabby!
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted September 12, 2012 Posted September 12, 2012 Are we allowed to have 3 hits prior to the 7th inning?

Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted September 12, 2012 Posted September 12, 2012 But, I forgot, we're not allowed to score.
ashie62 Old-Timey Member Posted September 12, 2012 Posted September 12, 2012 I forgot, Im not supposed to watch anymore this season.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted September 12, 2012 Author Posted September 12, 2012 Jason Phillips as cleanup guy --- how are we hitting worse than we did then?Ryan Zimmerman puts the Nats up 1-0, or as we call it, running up the score.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted September 12, 2012 Posted September 12, 2012 This is what the Nats have been doing for like the last month or so - living off HRs like they're the first-half season Yanx.Meanwhile, we've had six different ABs with a runner on 1st and [u:34m5vk87]one[/u:34m5vk87] managed to move the up (Shoppach's single). The others have been Ks, force-outs, and pop/fly-outs.And then there was the dope who got himself out all on his own.

Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted September 12, 2012 Posted September 12, 2012 Good thing we missed Strasburg otherwise we might be getting shut-out thru 4 or something.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted September 12, 2012 Author Posted September 12, 2012 Base hit, man.Bunt time!
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted September 12, 2012 Posted September 12, 2012 And another RBI chance is met with yet another wet noodle of a ground ball.
Guest The Second Spitter Guests Posted September 12, 2012 Posted September 12, 2012 Nothing like metsian middle-inning malaise to offset a stronger than usual cup of coffee.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted September 12, 2012 Author Posted September 12, 2012 Robert Carson, the spirit of Bobby Myrick smiles on you.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted September 12, 2012 Posted September 12, 2012 Not often that you get out of an inning where your pitchers start six straight hitters off with a 2-0 count.
Guest themetfairy Guests Posted September 12, 2012 Posted September 12, 2012 Lots of beer for Carson for coming into the inning with nobody out and stranding three inherited runners!
Fman99 Old-Timey Member Posted September 12, 2012 Posted September 12, 2012 Enough fucking popups and fucking GIDPs and fucking LOBs. I'm ready to launch these fuckers into outer space like the Robinson family.
Guest LeiterWagnerFasterStrongr Guests Posted September 12, 2012 Posted September 12, 2012 If nothing else-- and that might actually be the case-- we're learning a lot about what could be a really good, really cheap bullpen over the next couple of years... especially the lefties.Would that our lefty hitters would have similarly timely successes. Alas, Ike.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted September 12, 2012 Posted September 12, 2012 I would have PH'd Murphy there rather than Ike (needing one or two runs rather than four) but I also don't think it would have made the slightest bit of difference.Muffy just would have found a different way to make an out.And we still have only had one hitter move another one up with a hit. Wright had to move himself up twice w/steals.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted September 12, 2012 Posted September 12, 2012 Oh good, let's put another fucking leadoff guy on.And if you could make it a .145 hitter with an 0-2 count, Bobby, that would be just real peachy. And while we're at it, just when was Parnell's last 1-2-3 inning anyway?I'm guessing it was some time in 2010
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted September 12, 2012 Posted September 12, 2012 And walking two guys right after that would be a perfect topping.

Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted September 12, 2012 Posted September 12, 2012 The legacy of these last two Houdini acts will be to make this a 1-0 loss rather than a blowout.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted September 12, 2012 Posted September 12, 2012 Two more weak-ass ground-outs and a sky-high pop.I count [u:1zejl7gf]One[/u:1zejl7gf] hard out all night - Torres's liner to LF which was, ironically enough, too hard to score the runner from 3rd.
