Guest Swan Swan H Guests Posted August 21, 2012 Posted August 21, 2012 Chris Young will be the tallest person out there when the Mets take on the Colorado Rockies tonight at Citi Field. They will face Jhouyls Chacin, whose first name was my most recent rack of letters in Words With Friends. A bit of flippage in the 1-2 and 3-4 spots today, and the bottom third is just that. Edgy MD Site Manager Posted August 21, 2012 Posted August 21, 2012 Someday, maybe in his nineties, Terry will wake up and realize that Murphy in the middle of the lineup was no way to hang himself.
Lefty Specialist Old-Timey Member Posted August 21, 2012 Posted August 21, 2012 Hopefully Torres will get lost on his way to Citi. He certainly seems lost inside it.
Guest Mets Willets Point Guests Posted August 21, 2012 Posted August 21, 2012 I think a big win streak starts tonight.
Guest John Cougar Lunchbucket Guests Posted August 21, 2012 Posted August 21, 2012 Muffy is basically hitting like Paul LoDuca and he's been cleanup or 5th almost the whole year.
metirish Old-Timey Member Posted August 21, 2012 Posted August 21, 2012 Love the thread title........I can't remember the last time I saw so few Mets games in a season on the telly. They suck of course and I have family out from Ireland for the summer.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted August 21, 2012 Posted August 21, 2012 That's four long/loud outs for Wright in his last five ABs - in addition to his 2B & IW last night.
metirish Old-Timey Member Posted August 21, 2012 Posted August 21, 2012 (edited) wow, could Fowler have been more nonchalant right there, he made that they look so easy as the wall . Edited August 21, 2012 by Guest
Guest The Second Spitter Guests Posted August 21, 2012 Posted August 21, 2012 I wish when I reach Ed Charles' age, I look as good as him.
Guest John Cougar Lunchbucket Guests Posted August 21, 2012 Posted August 21, 2012 No hitter intact! (Not saying which one I'm jinxing)

Zvon Old-Timey Member Posted August 21, 2012 Posted August 21, 2012 You weren't gonna win that battle Shorty. He was out. Pick your battles better.
Guest The Second Spitter Guests Posted August 21, 2012 Posted August 21, 2012 Torres clearly forgot to take Ritalin this morning.
Guest The Second Spitter Guests Posted August 21, 2012 Posted August 21, 2012 (edited) Well, now at least they don;t have to worry about Young's arm falling off after the 7th. Edited August 21, 2012 by Guest
Zvon Old-Timey Member Posted August 21, 2012 Posted August 21, 2012 Young is hitting that 6th inning wall.
Guest John Cougar Lunchbucket Guests Posted August 21, 2012 Posted August 21, 2012 I wasn't paying attention so I could be wrong, but did Thole sacrifice ahead of Young?!?
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted August 21, 2012 Posted August 21, 2012 So is there anyone who DIDN'T know that, as soon as the perfecto disappeared, the lead was only seconds from following suit?

bmfc1 Old-Timey Member Posted August 21, 2012 Posted August 21, 2012 Keith--chill out about the Rockies mistake, the Mets are making plenty of their own. Harp on those.
Guest John Cougar Lunchbucket Guests Posted August 21, 2012 Posted August 21, 2012 Meantime, I've had about enough of this freakshow and his fallapartingness.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted August 21, 2012 Posted August 21, 2012 Do you suppose any of the Rox refer to their current 3Bman Pacheco as 'Doctor'?Nah, they're probably all too young.
Guest John Cougar Lunchbucket Guests Posted August 21, 2012 Posted August 21, 2012 Tuefel, come see me in my office.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted August 21, 2012 Posted August 21, 2012 Right move to send him. There were two outs and it could be two more innings (or two more days) until our next hit.
Zvon Old-Timey Member Posted August 21, 2012 Posted August 21, 2012 I could see as that play developed that Tejada was gonna be out by a mile. He was just rounding 3rd as the left fielder got the ball.
