I was thinking Parnell and Duda are just too nice to play baseball.

We could use a few dirtbags.

Xavier Paul... do they pitch to him?

Yes and no.

Another snappy little 2-3-6 inning.

bring him back for the 8th, is what I do. gotta use your best reliever for 2 in a tie game right? even with ..23? pitches.

I don't want to scare anyone but the last 2-1/3 innings of NYM relief pitching involving 4 different pitchers has produced a combined 6 walks plus an HBP and 2 hits.

If you were a baseball player named Xavier Paul, wouldn't you change your name to Paul Xavier so you could be the first MLer with a last name starting with X and grab all of those records?
I'd definitely have to think about it.

confirmation bias, but Warthen's mound visit resulted in a walk. I don't trust what he tells them.

Do you sometimes look under the bed to see if Warthen is hiding there?

David Wright, a prince of a guy, walks.

If he was a total buttmunch, he'd have doubled off the wall.

Ike Davis, swell fella, whiffs.

Do you think maybe he told him to pitch carefully to the good fastball-hitting lefty with a base open and the #8 RH-hitting backup catcher on deck?

Miguel Cairo has been getting paid to play baseball for 22 years now.
And if told back when he was a Met that he was going to continue to pull down a major league salary for at least another 7 years I don't think any of us would have believed it.

Tom Goodwin patted him on the ass before that steal attempt. Just sayin'.

And now, unless we go 1-2-3 in this inning, we're going to have to change pitchers again, regardless of whether we score or not.

Rauch did his job. I guess we could say Parnell did as well although that pic above was snapped during his inning. Hairball time :)

Hairston pinch-hitting with two out. I mighta gone to Bay.

And Hairston hits it to the wall but Thole stops at third.

Wow. That rip by Scott got to the wall incredibly quick.

No more interactive LGM's. Yes, I don't trust you now Edgy ;)

Aww jeezus. Great at bat by Rubin and it started to look like that liner could drop. If they are gonna catch all our hits before they hit the ground we are in trouble.
