Guest John Cougar Lunchbucket Guests Posted July 26, 2012 Posted July 26, 2012 Been released rather than assigned to AAA.I mean, it had to come to this.
G-Fafif Old-Timey Member Posted July 26, 2012 Posted July 26, 2012 His 100th win came in his Mets debut. His two-hitter on the final day stole no thunder from the swirl of controversy around the batting title that was secured in its midst. He wasn't much in relief. He wasn't much of a starter at the end.But thanks, again, for being a 2001 Diamondback and keeping the world safe for the rest of us.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted July 26, 2012 Posted July 26, 2012 His starts were full of lousy beginnings and sometimes incredible recoveries. His relief appearances, well, you don't get time for recoveries in those. You come out strong or don't last long. For a guy who still had 95-96-MPH heat, good movement, and more or less good conditioning in his forties, it's kinda strange he hasn't had a better career in general, but maybe his inability to figure things out until he made a few mistakes was a career-long trait. Maybe he didn't prepare well. Dunno.
