Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted July 22, 2012 Posted July 22, 2012 I think we just got the make-up call at 1st

Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted July 22, 2012 Posted July 22, 2012 Somebody on this team needs to get a ball out of the infield !!!!!!!!!
DocTee Old-Timey Member Posted July 22, 2012 Posted July 22, 2012 Was that a straight sacrifice or more of the bunt-for-a-hit-and-take-the-sacrifice-as-a-backup-plan moveStraight sacrifice but Valdy's speed almost made it a hit, too.Nickeas' bunt was one of the worst I've seen-- he should have swung away with the wheel play on anyway, but hard back to the mound is not the way they teach it.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted July 22, 2012 Posted July 22, 2012 The thing about the Nickeas bunt was that the play at 3rd was closer than the one at 1st
nymr83 Old-Timey Member Posted July 22, 2012 Posted July 22, 2012 Mets dancing out of trouble... Would REALLY like to end it here with the now-depleted bullpen
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted July 22, 2012 Posted July 22, 2012 So it's Valdy - Wright - then Ike against a pitcher making his ML debut: Josh (somebody take him over the) Wall
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted July 22, 2012 Posted July 22, 2012 One out, Wright on first. Green light?
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted July 22, 2012 Posted July 22, 2012 15 hits and only 3 runs.I didn't have a problem with the SB attempt.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted July 22, 2012 Posted July 22, 2012 So we have the advantage in terms of available arms, but... still gots to push somebody across first. And now two on and no outs for the Dodgers.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted July 22, 2012 Posted July 22, 2012 Hi, I'm Mike DiMuro!By the way, you're allowed to drop a bunt and go for the double play, aren't you? No infield-fly rule on bunts?
nymr83 Old-Timey Member Posted July 22, 2012 Posted July 22, 2012 Gwynn was out. This umpire at first base is having a really bad day. Thanks for the freebie Ellis!
bmfc1 Old-Timey Member Posted July 22, 2012 Posted July 22, 2012 Dimuro is even worse than Angel Hernandez and CB Bucknor!
nymr83 Old-Timey Member Posted July 22, 2012 Posted July 22, 2012 Nobody is worse than Angel "I got a flight to catch" Hernandez.I don't like the intentional walk here. Either isn't THAT good and loading the bases is suspect, you can too easily end up behind in the count with no place to put him
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted July 22, 2012 Posted July 22, 2012 Hey, Josh Lewin. I don't care if a pitcher isn't available tomorrow.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted July 22, 2012 Posted July 22, 2012 Don't you just smell a four run inning coming right here?
bmfc1 Old-Timey Member Posted July 22, 2012 Posted July 22, 2012 I smell something... (that was too easy).

It was the right move, it simply didn't work. And then it was the 14 consecutive two-outs that followed which made it look even worse.
