Not a relief pitcher but Mets looking at C Ramon Hernandez of the Rockies, Internets say. Rockies like Turner.

I'd make that deal yesterday!

(looks up numbers, sees Hernandez on DL with .260 OBP, reconsiders entusiasm)

really small sample size ( of course, throw in that it's COORS FIELD and the drop off looks even worse. He _is_ 36..) so seems likea good buy low guy.

Still just a rumor though, and that it originated with someone like Sherman makes it even more skeptical.

I'll never get all the hate for Sherman. He's a good writer and scoops everyone.

It's stuff like this:

And, come on, isnt there a little part of everyone still wondering just how long the R.A. Dickey magical, mystery knuckleball tour can extend?

nope. It's been a long time now.

Earlier this year:

If Ike Davis needs a patron saint, someone to remind him that a season can be salvaged even at this late date, then we offer up Russell Martin.

Martin is at .179 now. Sherman did no research (typical of his stuff that I've seen) and assumes that a hot week from Martin somehow was going to make him the player he hasn't been in four years. It has very little to do with a young player returning from injury and off to a slow start and all that is/was Ike Davis' slump. It was sloppy "Pick the first Yankee guy we can compare him to" post.

If they trade Turner, who does the post-game pie duty?

If Turner heads westward, I would gather Josh Satin inherits the roll of steady-but-on-the-bubble-utility-infielder-without-the-range-for-shortstop-in-his-late-twenties-with-occasional-offensive-skills-if-carefully-matched-up-and-who-provides-bonus-pieface-ability.

The two have always struck me as really redundant. The main difference is that Turner can at least fake it at short and Satin not really (but Satin can fake it at first, and Turner not really). Satin's been rilly hot at Buffalo, I believe.

If the Mets do a deal with the Rox, please please bring back Tim Wheeler as part of the package:

I know his family well-- this is a good guy and special talent, blocked by some studs in the Colorado OF

The guy from Ash? One of my fave bands from my college radio days.
