nymr83 Old-Timey Member Posted June 17, 2012 Posted June 17, 2012 I'm really starting to like Bryce Harper[youtube:1btr1hqj]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=baF3qWDwo2Q&sns=fb[/youtube:1btr1hqj]
TransMonk Old-Timey Member Posted June 17, 2012 Posted June 17, 2012 Yeah, the kid looks like he's going to be the real deal and he's probably going to give the Mets fits for years and years to come. Now that Chipper is going to retire, I think Bryce will fit the annoying division rival just fine. I hate him already.I truly believe that beginning in about two years, the Mets/Nats rivalry will hit full swing and they will be the teams battling for the NL East every year for a handful of seasons.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted June 17, 2012 Posted June 17, 2012 They've been doing a pretty good job of it this year.

Edgy MD Site Manager Posted June 18, 2012 Posted June 18, 2012 Exactly. And Gonzalez and Strasburg are trying to elbow in on Dickey's All-Star start and Cy Young award. Heck with that. The future is now. Get on board.

Heck with that. The future is now. Get on board. The NL CY Young race right now looks like Dickey, Cain, Gonzalez, Lance Lynn, and I know there was someone else I'm forgetting.Strassburg is supposedly getting shut down at 160 innings, which if they follow through on that will take him out of contention.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted June 18, 2012 Posted June 18, 2012 He's in the race now.Lynn is a pretender, sez I.

And there is still time for new guys to emerge, but wouldn't it just be amazing for Dickey to hang in there?
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted June 18, 2012 Posted June 18, 2012 Q: So Bryce, now that you're off to a good start in the majors, do you expect to win the batting title?A: That's a crown question bro!Q: And do you think that your 0-for-7 w/5 strike-outs day on Saturday will hurt your chances?A: That's a frown question bro!
