Personally, I'd plunk Teixeira with the 100 mph fastball, and then count on Rodriguez either striking out or grounding into the double play.

Not a sound strategy, you say? I don't see other things working so well.

I'd have plunked Jeter. It keeps him on first instead of second, and, well, it's just the right thing to do.

Get him out of there.

This would be unbelievable if I hadn't seen it a hundred times before. Somebody let me know when they hit a ball hard.

They haven't hit a ball hard yet and are on their way to a seven run inning.
The only ball they hit hard all game in fact was a 311-ft liner by a guy who should never have come to bat but somehow accounted for two runs.

Id rather the skanks hit 3 homers in a row again than torture me with this bleeder blooper bullshit.

Parnell is a sack of shit. The error wasn't his fault but everything that happened is on his watch. He should never be used past the 7th inning or when the lead or deficit is 5 or more.

Bases loaded, one out and Bay then Wright strike out. What FK said about extra runs came true.

Then cut him from the team and get someone else in here.
Got anyone in mind?

Bottom line is, NYM bats have had a total of three base-runners since that 2nd inning bases-loaded/one-out situation -- and two of them promptly got their asses picked-off.

The fact that S. Anderson doesn't have adequate reinforcements (and I understand why) isn't a good excuse for Parnell.

FK's other point about lousy baserunning is valid. And don't forget Wright's error.

Gameday lacks details. Was that bad baserunning from Ike, or was it a hit-and-run or something?

Posted

An aggressive play on a grounder to shortstop, throwing to third instead of first. Ike was called out on a very close play.
