ashie62 Old-Timey Member Posted June 9, 2012 Posted June 9, 2012 Do we have to play the Yankees every year? Enough already.

bmfc1 Old-Timey Member Posted June 9, 2012 Posted June 9, 2012 LWFS--do you think that's what Buck meant? Perhaps you're right.
Met Hunter Old-Timey Member Posted June 9, 2012 Posted June 9, 2012 Pretty sure Carlin and the SNY crew questioned that move too. Did anyone watch the game?
Guest LeiterWagnerFasterStrongr Guests Posted June 9, 2012 Posted June 9, 2012 Buck was questioning the wisdom of hitting for Hairston with Valdespin. That's how he set up the whole mini-rant.Valdespin is a good-- and that's generous, I think-- see-ball-hit-ball hitter. He's a pretty terrible hitter in terms of approach/situational awareness. That Papelbon luckshot will have Terry reaching for Valdespin's lever in close-and-late situations FAR more than he oughta.
bmfc1 Old-Timey Member Posted June 9, 2012 Posted June 9, 2012 I stand corrected. I'd rather have had Hairston up.
