Q has been every bit as good as Cedeno, if not better, but when Cedeno and Tejada returns, Q will go back to Buffalo because Cedeno got the FA contract.

They went to Ken Rosenthal so Buck can clear one of Jeter's pubes from the back of his throat.

Matt V says "Carlos Beltran" instead of "Carlos Beltran." Is this a real broadcast or a run through?

I'm betting Gee takes a jackhammer with him next inning to work on that mound.

Can't do that! The Yanqui stadium infield is the greatest infield in the history of infields.
It's true, just ask the Yanquis themselves, they'll tell you.

It's gotten so bad that they've got you doing it.

NOW they show the replay of Jeter's sweep tag missing Nieuwenhuis on his SB in the 1st?!?
It's amazing how often he gets away with that.

Did Swisher really climb the wall on Q's homer? He only missed catching it by, oh, 150 feet.

Don't exaggerate. He was well within 80 feet.

Does Jeter have any range? With any other SS, it would have been menitoned but here, it was all about Granderson.

Tejada catches Duda's ball. Q catches it. Jeter goes just hard enough to make it look like it's Granderson's ball.

He should have used a lamp post (see other thread).

Buck says that Martin's had a good year behind the plate. Not according to a [u:1zl6i2qb]Times[/u:1zl6i2qb] article which said that Girardi told him he had to do better.

Agreed FK: he's starting to lay off the off-speed pitch out of the strike zone. We'll see if it leads to more fastballs and maybe more HRs.

In his last three AB's, Bay's lofted lazy fly ball outs, each one about 30 feet short of the warning track. This is about as good as you can hope for with Bay: that if he keeps this up, at least he won't be grounding into DP's with a man on and less than two outs.

So can anyone guess why this pitching match up makes me think of Rickey Nelson?

Poor little fool?
or do you mean I Got a Feeling?

Neither. I'm afraid it's much more obscure than that. Obscure even to the point where I never should have brought it up but I have this over-active associative process that I can't always shut off and, hell, if I can't share my crazy with you folks, who am I going to share it with?

So the bottom line is, hearing Phil Hughes and Dillon Gee in the same sentence clicked my head over to the line from Nelson's song 'Garden Party' where he sang; Mr. Hughes hid in Dillon's shoes, wearing his disguise
Of course it was originally Dylan's shoes, not Dillon's, but aurally the line works.

Hughes, btw, in the song, apparently referred to George Harrison who was Nelson's friend and neighbor and often traveled under the alias of Mr. Hughes. 'HIding in Dylan's shoes' was a reference to Harrison's then-current attempt at working on a collection of Dylan cover songs, something he wound up never releasing.
