I just ran into a pile of tweets in which Met fans are compared to Hippocrates of Cosa because they objected to Swishy in a way they did no object to equivalent behavior by Reyes.

Is that true? Did we do that?

I thought some of the stuff Reyes did risked being interpreted by enemies as showing them up, but I thought they used their "anger" strategically as a means to throw the Reyes and their fans off their game.

Swisher to me is worse in some way. Maybe it's because as the son of a ballplayer we assume he knows what ought to acceptable and what ought to get you beaned. Maybe because he knows he's a lucky SOB to be un-beanable in a lineup that has many more dangerous bats.

Swisher is an asshole , running up and down the dugout with his tongue hanging out slapping fives with everyone....I think he gets away with it in ways that Reyes didn't because while Reyes seemed surly towards the end Swisher never seems to stop smiling.

But those Tweeters may be surprised to realize how many no-fun Met fans did object to Reyes' behavior.
