Benjamin Grimm Old-Timey Member Posted May 11, 2012 Posted May 11, 2012 The 8,000th regular season game in Mets history!(Of the 7,999 played so far, the Mets have won 3,829, leaving them with a winning percentage of .479. There were 8 tie games.)
Guest LeiterWagnerFasterStrongr Guests Posted May 11, 2012 Posted May 11, 2012 Stanton's on MLB talking to Matt Yallof and Larry Bowa. (Considering it's 4 PM on a Friday, I'm mildly surprised that the Clevelander isn't pumping Skrillex and LMFAO and oil-slathered flesh props in the background.)When asked about the Marlinator, he pleads the fifth. With the really hesitant air of somebody who HATES the Marlinator.

G-Fafif Old-Timey Member Posted May 11, 2012 Posted May 11, 2012 Cedeno's return = Rottino's au revoir.
G-Fafif Old-Timey Member Posted May 11, 2012 Posted May 11, 2012 And Let's Go Mets! Let's see what this new place has. Fewer evident sacks of Soilmaster, one presumes.
Piggiestomatoes Old-Timey Member Posted May 11, 2012 Posted May 11, 2012 Not liking the start here. Murphy sleeping at 1st, Torres whiffing at Reyes' shot and a quick run for the Fishes. Oy.
metirish Old-Timey Member Posted May 11, 2012 Posted May 11, 2012 Kearns can do that, not much else be he can really clatter the ball.
Benjamin Grimm Old-Timey Member Posted May 11, 2012 Posted May 11, 2012 Marlins already up 3-0. I'm gonna do something else for a while.
metirish Old-Timey Member Posted May 11, 2012 Posted May 11, 2012 "@CJNitkowski: Is this new or I have just never noticed how far to the 3rd base side Johan Santana sets up on the rubber? Pretty amazing, barely on."
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted May 11, 2012 Author Posted May 11, 2012 Maybe Ike is on his way back? That's 2 HRs + a 2B in his last 4 ABs
metirish Old-Timey Member Posted May 11, 2012 Posted May 11, 2012 Santana with a brilliant diving at full stretch play off the mound to snag a ball.....
Guest LeiterWagnerFasterStrongr Guests Posted May 11, 2012 Posted May 11, 2012 And Nickeas gaps it. The righties are starting to touch up Finesse Boy.What IS that background noise? Are the Marlin fans, like, constantly booing?

Guest LeiterWagnerFasterStrongr Guests Posted May 11, 2012 Posted May 11, 2012 And with two on/two out and Murphy coming up, Guillen's making the switch to Choate, by waving his garish arm in that ugly fucking shirt.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted May 11, 2012 Author Posted May 11, 2012 Several chances for clutch ABs tonight but none have come through.- Hairston swung at just an awful 2-0 pitch and popped out- Turner hacked at the first pitch he saw PH-ing and also popped it up- and Murph K'd w2-on/2-out although he had the toughest assignment of the three and got the tougher pitches from the lefty specialist.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted May 11, 2012 Posted May 11, 2012 Still. Down by one and getting outhit late. We've played our way out of this.Wouldn't want that to be our only model for winning, but it's something.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted May 11, 2012 Posted May 11, 2012 And... let's get to it! Leadoff double by Wright.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted May 11, 2012 Posted May 11, 2012 Double by Neiuie.Tying run by Wright.Mets strike late.Munny.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted May 11, 2012 Author Posted May 11, 2012 That was an impressive AB from Nieuy. Both strikes 1 & 2 were bastard pitches so he had to hit out of the hole.
Guest John Cougar Lunchbucket Guests Posted May 11, 2012 Posted May 11, 2012 Cedeno's rocking the orange wristbands and shoelaces. I approve.
Piggiestomatoes Old-Timey Member Posted May 11, 2012 Posted May 11, 2012 Nice at bat and he's looking good. Welcome back!
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted May 11, 2012 Posted May 11, 2012 Baxter pinch-hitting. Interesting. Ya think he has the discipline to just give us the meaningful contact to get the go-ahead run home?We also go into the endgame with Rob Johnson as our catcher.
bmfc1 Old-Timey Member Posted May 11, 2012 Posted May 11, 2012 This inning is another over-managing classic but Terry's moves have worked out so far.
Guest John Cougar Lunchbucket Guests Posted May 11, 2012 Posted May 11, 2012 This team is unreal. Everyone does it.
