ESPN's Jerry Crasnick says the Mets are making a run at signing Cody Ross.

Seems kind of redundant with Hairston to me. If somebody else is about to be traded, maybe, but you don't want your fourth and fifth outfielder to be the same type of guy. Who's your lefthanded batter off the bench when Murphy's playing (and I assume he'll be playing a lot).

He'd join Andres Torres -- also a former West Michigan Whitecap.

Francis makes sense. Cody's presence, however, would help make any self-imposed absence from Citifield on my part a little more livable.

Even leaving aside the redundance issues... he's fucking Cody Ross.

And, to follow LWFS's comment, if Ross' first name were Schlomo, he'd still be fucking* Schlomo Ross.

The next first I want to see on the Mets this year is an MVP.

That's because Cody was not an acceptable name for a child until about 20 years ago.

After he said "no" to "Can you pitch?" they realized he was mostly useless to them.
