Edgy MD Site Manager Posted January 21, 2012 Posted January 21, 2012 ESPN's Jerry Crasnick says the Mets are making a run at signing Cody Ross.Seems kind of redundant with Hairston to me. If somebody else is about to be traded, maybe, but you don't want your fourth and fifth outfielder to be the same type of guy. Who's your lefthanded batter off the bench when Murphy's playing (and I assume he'll be playing a lot).
Guest metsguyinmichigan Guests Posted January 21, 2012 Posted January 21, 2012 He'd join Andres Torres -- also a former West Michigan Whitecap.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted January 21, 2012 Author Posted January 21, 2012 Former Giant, too.Jeff Francis' name also bouncing around. Guess they have a little cash on hand after all.
Guest LeiterWagnerFasterStrongr Guests Posted January 21, 2012 Posted January 21, 2012 Francis makes sense. Cody's presence, however, would help make any self-imposed absence from Citifield on my part a little more livable.Even leaving aside the redundance issues... he's fucking Cody Ross.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted January 21, 2012 Author Posted January 21, 2012 He'd be the first Cody in Mets' history. http://codyross.org/

And, to follow LWFS's comment, if Ross' first name were Schlomo, he'd still be fucking* Schlomo Ross. The next first I want to see on the Mets this year is an MVP.Later*= adjective, not verb
