Murph did a stellar job. Kids did not turn their presents back in or anything. Turner embraced his elfdom. Niese, as a crafty lefty, avoided the spotlight. Mr. Met of course towered over everybody.

I just opened my Christmas e-mail from the Mets and watched the little highlight video, which concludes with a greeting from David Wright.

As I was watching, my thought was, "Gee, I wish you guys were more relevant."

Do you think that's what they were going for?
