Which Met has the highest lifetime successful stolen base/attempts percentage (Met stolen bases/attempts only; min. 20 stolen bases)?

There's a two way tie for the top Met.

Which Met has the lowest (same category/parameters)?

worst: Jose Vizcaino
best: Jason Bay

Jason Bay is one of the right answers. He succesfully stole 21 bases out of 22 attempts for a 95.5% rate.

One other Met also stole precisely 21 bases out of 22 attempts to match Bay.

The answer to the lowest Met is the only player in franchise history to have stolen at least 20 bases as a Met, and whose caught stealing total exceeds his stolen bases.

Frank Taveras for worst.

Checking my numbers, Maddox is wrong, as he doesn't have enough steals to qualify, but damn.

Disastrous! How did you let this guy keep running, Joe Torre? Were these all failed hit-and-runs by Lee Mazzill swinging through the pitch?

I just automatically think of the Torre Era when I think of caught stealings. It might be a longtime slow compiler like Kranepool or Hunt too. But I'll stay with Frankie T.

I'll post the remaining answers shortly. As some of you already noted, the Torre era de Roulet Mets sucked at stealing bases (among other things -- every other thing, really). Stearns was also an extremely overrated base-stealer. Though he was faster than the typical catcher, the Mets, overall, would've been better off had he never attempted a single steal. But Elliott Maddox. Holy moley!

I deserve an honorable mention for that

The Longtime Slow Compilers would most uninspiring band name ever. I picture it as a supergroup of former and current members of Chicago, Heart, and Yes.

I'll throw in a twist on this trivia because some of these guys were way before my time, I don't remember the Joe Torre Era, and guys like ron hunt taveras, maddox are lost on me.

Of the 32 mets players who attempted 50+ steals who has the worst sb% and who has the best.
of the 17 mets players who attempted 100+ steals who has the worst sb%? (best is the same as the 50+).

extra internet stars for guessing within 5% of their respective sb%

Baserunning rend noticed in The Happiest Recap research is how often players used to get thrown out on back ends of plays, going hand in hand with the "gotta steal" ethos. When successful, it was a more swashbuckling, exciting game. When not, it was reckless and stupid. Like complete games, I kind of miss it.
