I was curious about the origin of the word "Metly", used today by Edgy in the Sillie Phillie thread. (I was wondering if perhaps I had coined it, but although I can't prove who did, I was able to prove that it wasn't me.)

I did a Google search on "Metly" limiting the results to the cranepoolforum.net domain and got 14 pages of results!

The earliest documented usage of the word that I could find was by Edgy DC on December 5, 2001 (which was before my time, hence the proof that I have no claim on the word's origin):
