G-Fafif Old-Timey Member Posted September 21, 2011 Posted September 21, 2011 First of eight in a row that will prevent the Mets' third consecutive losing season. And to do it, here are the fellows who will take on Jaime Garcia, the starter from the last Mets' victory at Busch Stadium:Jose Reyes - SSAngel Pagan - CFDavid Wright - 3BLucas Duda - RFNick Evans - 1BWillie Harris - LFRonny Paulino - CJustin Turner - 2BChris Schwinden - RHP
G-Fafif Old-Timey Member Posted September 21, 2011 Author Posted September 21, 2011 FYI, the seventh-most recent Mets win at Busch Stadium was Game 4 of the 2006 NLCS.
Gwreck Old-Timey Member Posted September 21, 2011 Posted September 21, 2011 If memory serves, we also swept the season-opening series in St. Louis in 2007, which means we won 3 out of 9 games in St. Louis in the '08-'10 seasons.

Swept three en route to a 4-0 start and all the division titles we could carry into the new ballpark. Ah, early April 2007...
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted September 21, 2011 Posted September 21, 2011 It's the 2nd inning and this team has already embarrassed itself several times over.
ashie62 Old-Timey Member Posted September 21, 2011 Posted September 21, 2011 At this point does it really matter. They suck..Bay out with a cold?
Guest Edgy DC Guests Posted September 21, 2011 Posted September 21, 2011 Well, does it ever matter?I don't know who is watching, but whatever career Schwinden has was saved by DJ Willie Harris tonight, making a diving, bases-loaded, two-out catch to stop the Cards from breaking it open after it was already 3-0. The Mets came back and know lead 4-3.
ashie62 Old-Timey Member Posted September 21, 2011 Posted September 21, 2011 I did see Josh Satin crush a ball..
ashie62 Old-Timey Member Posted September 21, 2011 Posted September 21, 2011 Ron Darling politicing for shorter fences
Ceetar Grand Central Contributor Posted September 21, 2011 Posted September 21, 2011 lots of unearneds in this one.

Guest Edgy DC Guests Posted September 21, 2011 Posted September 21, 2011 I-Go-Schwinden-in-Water makes it through six, which I wouldn't have bet on early. He owes Harris some chocolates.

Guest Edgy DC Guests Posted September 21, 2011 Posted September 21, 2011 Cut it out.Schwinden is out. Booishness.
Guest Edgy DC Guests Posted September 21, 2011 Posted September 21, 2011 Oh, man. Terry's over-playing the matchup game himself.
Guest Edgy DC Guests Posted September 21, 2011 Posted September 21, 2011 And if you're scoring at home --- and I hope you are --- Herrera exits after one pitch.
bmfc1 Old-Timey Member Posted September 21, 2011 Posted September 21, 2011 Terry continues to over-manage. I thought that Beato had a tired arm.
Ceetar Grand Central Contributor Posted September 21, 2011 Posted September 21, 2011 Oh Beato.. paving the way for a spot in the minors next year..?
Guest Edgy DC Guests Posted September 21, 2011 Posted September 21, 2011 "Whether he comes to bat or not here, I think Terry's gonna take Schwinden out, and I think that's great." --- Howie Rose
Guest Edgy DC Guests Posted September 21, 2011 Posted September 21, 2011 Two out, nobody on, Wright up, and LaRussa double-switches. For fuck's sake.
