G-Fafif Old-Timey Member Posted September 16, 2011 Posted September 16, 2011 On this night six years ago, when my wife brought home our new kitten, Pedro Martinez beat the Atlanta Braves.Jose Reyes - SSAngel Pagan - CFDavid Wright - 3BLucas Duda - RFJason Bay - LFNick Evans - 1BJosh Thole - CRuben Tejada - 2BChris Capuano - LHP
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted September 16, 2011 Posted September 16, 2011 The good news is we're facing Derek Lowe and not some pitcher who is looking for his first ML win.The bad is that we're coming off a series where I believe they made more outs on the base-paths (CS, pick-offs, GiDPs, thrown out tagging, etc.) than they scored actual runs, and now have to go face a real team.
TransMonk Old-Timey Member Posted September 16, 2011 Posted September 16, 2011 I'd have no problem with the Mets helping to spoil the Braves October plans.
Guest Edgy DC Guests Posted September 16, 2011 Posted September 16, 2011 When I'm 96 and bedridden and don't seem like I'm with it at all, my grandkids will test me by saying "Derek Lowe."And I'll spontaneously respond, "BOOOOOOO!!!!"

Ceetar Grand Central Contributor Posted September 16, 2011 Posted September 16, 2011 David Wright: still awesom.e 2-run homer gives them the lead. (okay, it's the top of the first still)Reyes also got a hit.Why isn't Turner playing at his own field?

Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted September 16, 2011 Posted September 16, 2011 Just to refresh my memory, when our guys have more runs than the other guys is that what's called "a lead"?I've heard other teams' fans talk about it, but it's been so long that I'm having trouble remembering.

Guest John Cougar Lunchbucket Guests Posted September 16, 2011 Posted September 16, 2011 Y'know it'd be cathartic to knock this club out of the playoffs. They're not any good anyhow.

Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted September 16, 2011 Posted September 16, 2011 The Cards are playing the Phils this weekend making Atlanta fans temporary Philly fans

Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted September 16, 2011 Posted September 16, 2011 Cappy puts two rabbits on base to start the bottom of the 5th then K's all the boppers to keep them from scoring.(he was helped by the fact that one of the burners missed 1st base, but that's a minor issue and one I would have sworn would be made by the team in black and gray instead)

Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted September 16, 2011 Posted September 16, 2011 So I guess Julio Teheran joins Miguel Cairo, current Detroit 2B Jose Santiago, along with retired players like Jose Lima, and Claudell Washington in a fairly small ML club.

Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted September 16, 2011 Posted September 16, 2011 Yes, world capitals specifically. So Daryl Boston would not be invited to this rather exclusive club.
