Good for Valentino! I think he was an Expo last time he was in the majors, but I'm not sure.

Adam Rubin
Tim Teufel will be with the Mets as an extra coach from Sept. 9-18. Wally Backman then joins the #Mets for remainder of season.

I'd have sworn that Val Pascucci had been up with the Mets before, in fact I was so sure he was that I went to MBTN to see what number he wore before. I am either conflating him with another player or there was talk of him coming up in the past.

sounds right , toiled for several years in the minors then got called up ...........in 2003, just checked .....where did the time go?

Since he joined the Marlins, Jose Lopez has looked like the guy who hit 25 HRs and drove in 96 two years ago. He could be somebody to look at in the FA market this offseason.

Pascucci was hitting the cover off the ball a year or two ago. Jerry Manuel was asked (perhaps by fans) whether he had interest in adding him to the big squad and he acknowledged that he wasn't sure who Pascucci was.

Meanwhile... what a great game!
