metirish Old-Timey Member Posted August 23, 2011 Posted August 23, 2011 Flip Bay and Evans and you have four J's in a row....apart from that not all that interesting.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted August 23, 2011 Posted August 23, 2011 Looks like the quake even shook-up the lineup. Now let's hope it causes some actual damage.
Gwreck Old-Timey Member Posted August 23, 2011 Posted August 23, 2011 So we had second and third, nobody out and then proceeded to strike out looking three times in a row? Swinging at only 3 of the 13 pitches?
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted August 23, 2011 Posted August 23, 2011 0-6 w/RiSP by the 2nd inning, no balls out of the infield, 5 Ks, all looking. You can't even do that trying.
G-Fafif Old-Timey Member Posted August 23, 2011 Posted August 23, 2011 They talk about the wind at Wrigley, but I've never seen anything blow like the Mets' offense at Citizens Bank.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted August 23, 2011 Posted August 23, 2011 Do you suppose we can keep the combined score of this series under 30-0 ??
Ceetar Grand Central Contributor Posted August 23, 2011 Author Posted August 23, 2011 Frayed Knot wrote:Do you suppose we can keep the combined score of this series under 30-0 ??would be 27-0 if they just forfeited. Guess the umps didn't get the memo though.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted August 23, 2011 Posted August 23, 2011 Well at least Niese was good tonight ... for two innings.
Ceetar Grand Central Contributor Posted August 23, 2011 Author Posted August 23, 2011 I'd probably be the second or third best player on the Mets if they signed me tomorrow.. geeze.
ashie62 Old-Timey Member Posted August 23, 2011 Posted August 23, 2011 Long tossing programs for Niese, Gee and Pelfrey next spring. All three are finished for 2011.

Also, there still lingers a small chance of Santana.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted August 23, 2011 Posted August 23, 2011 Doesn't help matters that this also happens to be 'Bloop one in front of our Outfielders' week.

metirish Old-Timey Member Posted August 23, 2011 Posted August 23, 2011 This is beyond hard to watch. Absolutely horrible.

Ceetar Grand Central Contributor Posted August 23, 2011 Author Posted August 23, 2011 That stupid protrusion in the LCF wall make it impossible for Victorino to play Evans ball off the wall. He had no idea which way it was going to bounce. I guess people don't complain about the outfield walls when you're winning?

metirish Old-Timey Member Posted August 23, 2011 Posted August 23, 2011 Niese to the DL per Rubin, Mets will need two starters for next week, for Niese and for the DH Rubin also says.
ashie62 Old-Timey Member Posted August 23, 2011 Posted August 23, 2011 About that long toss program........
bmfc1 Old-Timey Member Posted August 23, 2011 Posted August 23, 2011 I had something to do tonight so I missed the whole game. Jealous? I think my head would have exploded when all 3 batters in the same inning got called out on strikes.

Although probably should've let him finish this game to 'stretch him out' if that was going to be the case. Actually, I forgot about Misch. I always forget him.I wouldn't mind seeing Cohoon either.
Guest LeiterWagnerFasterStrongr Guests Posted August 23, 2011 Posted August 23, 2011 I forced my attention to wane after the first 1 1/2 innings. After the scoring began, I turned it off, and started hoping my Phantasy guys were the ones doing the damage.
MFS62 Old-Timey Member Posted August 23, 2011 Posted August 23, 2011 I want to put chili powder in Victorino's Preparation H.Later
