Can't allow this to turn into one of those patented Mets West Coast Trips From Hell.

How many more surprising bouncebacks does this club have, and when does the next begin?

Something to chew on

"@STATS_MLB: #Padres have won 10 of 12 vs. #Mets at Petco, and havent lost a home series vs. NY since being swept in 3 games at Qualcomm Stadium in '02."

Mets used to have a ridiculous record against the D-backs in Arizona too.

The Mets headed west for this road trip and have thus far found themselves in a gunfight with a half loaded gun.

"6-3" is my nickname for Bay because that seems to be the result of half of his ABs.

I was following.

Josh Thole discovers what Julio Franco once did -- not the Fountain of Youth, but that cheapie jury box. Nice placement.

Thole to Petco: I like your style.

I'd call Verizon and bitch at them, but I'd probably get a janitor that was forced to answer phones due to the zany restructuring during the strike thing. He'd probably just suggest I pour some bleach in the paper slot.

Bad running (bad signreading?) deserves a bad call, I suppose.

Pretty loud in the park for a Southern California Monday night.

Where the hell is Jose Reyes...oh yeah...hurt..again..

Come on. The "oh yeah" thing is so 2002.

I'm more concerned with where Martinez is when we're giving a big buncha big-league at-bats to Brady and Pridie.

Apparently a simple guy as far as drinking tastes go, Thole eschews Stone IPAs and Ballast Point's full-bodied stouts in favor of a shit-ton of Schaefer.

Verizon took out at least one full-page newspaper ad today blaming the union for clinging to rules that require strict division of tasks which in turn (they claim) is responsible for the multiple transfers each time you try to get an answer from them.

How about the Mets' pitcher leading off by swinging at the first pitch with his goblin-cleaver?

Nice play in RF-- holding Turner to third on a two-out double by SugarPants-- by Will Venable, who I suspect is a defensive robot.

Maybe he got his pitch?

probably irrelevant, since he wasn't exactly going to drive it. See if he'll walk you..hey Bay..feel like one of those fun Grand Slam things?

Keep posting so we can get to page two and I can open this thread without seeing the priest.

Was he a character cut from the "Money for Nothing" video?

Pridie: "So, my good man, mind if I get a sip of the Sch--"

Thole: "No. I don't have a sip to spare."
