Mere pastiche of a whole lot of speed-is-great/proudly-ignorant pooping on Moneyball (Bonifacio's bobble was chalked up to Reyes' speed, as opposed to, say, Bonifacio's general lack-o'-glovely acumen/tendency to rush most plays). Plus, I left out the part where they made thinly-veiled steroid allusions, apropos-of-nothing, for the eleven thousandth time.

it's the control. Is that not an ability? Is that not what separates average from good from great? Sometimes Pelfrey doesn't have that control, much more often than Johnson (besides the obvious that he's a strikeout guy and one of the best _ever_) The idea that Pelfrey should be able to intimidate and dominate because he's tall like Randy is about as baseless as he should dominate because he's a number one draft pick. He's not that guy, let's let it go and stop killing him because he doesn't live up to lofty expectations.

I think I made it clear that I consider control an ability that he lacks. I'm certainly not killing him.

I was about to suggest that he looks like he's settling down, and he almost just gave up a homer to Infante.

Wasn't directed just at you, but there is this idea out there that Pelfrey should be awesome. GKR bringing up Randy is just an example of that.

Pelfrey did settle in . He's been pretty good at that. Keeping them in the game. He hasn't had has many starts that resemble an amazing start this year compared to last, but he hasn't had that many games that the Mets have just been out of it.

Anyway, Reyes bloop double. a gift, likely,but hey, another 2 hit game. he may just catch that record yet.
