Guest LeiterWagnerFasterStrongr Guests Posted July 22, 2011 Posted July 22, 2011 Mere pastiche of a whole lot of speed-is-great/proudly-ignorant pooping on Moneyball (Bonifacio's bobble was chalked up to Reyes' speed, as opposed to, say, Bonifacio's general lack-o'-glovely acumen/tendency to rush most plays). Plus, I left out the part where they made thinly-veiled steroid allusions, apropos-of-nothing, for the eleven thousandth time.

Sometimes Pelfrey doesn't have that control, much more often than Johnson (besides the obvious that he's a strikeout guy and one of the best _ever_) The idea that Pelfrey should be able to intimidate and dominate because he's tall like Randy is about as baseless as he should dominate because he's a number one draft pick. He's not that guy, let's let it go and stop killing him because he doesn't live up to lofty expectations.

I'm certainly not killing him.I was about to suggest that he looks like he's settling down, and he almost just gave up a homer to Infante. We didn't get a KTE for this series, did we?
Guest Edgy DC Guests Posted July 22, 2011 Posted July 22, 2011 Joahan in the dugout!Leadoff dubble by Jose!
Ceetar Grand Central Contributor Posted July 22, 2011 Posted July 22, 2011 Wasn't directed just at you, but there is this idea out there that Pelfrey should be awesome. GKR bringing up Randy is just an example of that. Pelfrey did settle in . He's been pretty good at that. Keeping them in the game. He hasn't had has many starts that resemble an amazing start this year compared to last, but he hasn't had that many games that the Mets have just been out of it.Anyway, Reyes bloop double. a gift, likely, but hey, another 2 hit game. he may just catch that record yet.Johan in the dugout. (okay, you beat me on those. but hey, Johan! in a Mets dugout!)
Guest LeiterWagnerFasterStrongr Guests Posted July 22, 2011 Posted July 22, 2011 That was piss-poor offensive play in that inning.
Guest LeiterWagnerFasterStrongr Guests Posted July 22, 2011 Posted July 22, 2011 Well, at least the club'll save some money with the Big Non-Tender.
seawolf17 Old-Timey Member Posted July 22, 2011 Posted July 22, 2011 Hey. Who is that guy on the right? Looks like #6x?http://twitpic.com/5u9lz3

Guest Edgy DC Guests Posted July 22, 2011 Posted July 22, 2011 Pelfrey is actually leaving the game with a chance to win.
Guest Edgy DC Guests Posted July 22, 2011 Posted July 22, 2011 Dumb question that play brings to mind: can you change pitchers and then try the appeal?
Guest Edgy DC Guests Posted July 22, 2011 Posted July 22, 2011 Leadoff dude on and middle of the order. Let's finish this.
Guest Edgy DC Guests Posted July 22, 2011 Posted July 22, 2011 Nine pitches and a 400-foot out for Beltran. Tough division.
Guest Edgy DC Guests Posted July 22, 2011 Posted July 22, 2011 RBI dubble by Wrighteousness!Go, Chip Hale!
Guest LeiterWagnerFasterStrongr Guests Posted July 22, 2011 Posted July 22, 2011 Good to have that back, no?
Guest Edgy DC Guests Posted July 22, 2011 Posted July 22, 2011 Choate comes in to face Murphy. Any chance you go to Evans?I would a month ago. But July has totally been Murphy's month.

Guest Edgy DC Guests Posted July 22, 2011 Posted July 22, 2011 So I'm saying.Take that, Randy Choate, you Yankee-for-Life.
Guest Edgy DC Guests Posted July 22, 2011 Posted July 22, 2011 Randy Choate entered the game with 45 appearances and 20 1/3 innngs. Is that like the OO-iest of LOOGys you've ever seen?
seawolf17 Old-Timey Member Posted July 22, 2011 Posted July 22, 2011 I feel like Mike Cameron was a Met really recently, but only Jose and David would remember him as a teammate. Last time he was a Met, Mike Piazza was still a Met.Been a long time.

Guest LeiterWagnerFasterStrongr Guests Posted July 22, 2011 Posted July 22, 2011 I would've stuck with Duda here, I think.
Guest Edgy DC Guests Posted July 22, 2011 Posted July 22, 2011 Double-switching out Hanley Ramirez?Trader Jack lives!
