Guest John Cougar Lunchbucket Guests Posted July 19, 2011 Posted July 19, 2011 Everybody is killing the ball or taking a walk, and Bay destroys himself.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted July 19, 2011 Posted July 19, 2011 Geez we should be up around 6-zip at this point. We've had at least 7 outs harder than either of their two hits.

He does what he's paid to do, it's 5-1 and likely the Mets can 'cruise' to a win. Now they have to worry about middle relief or some such and who knows?
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted July 19, 2011 Posted July 19, 2011 Fat Elvis has just left the building.
Ceetar Grand Central Contributor Posted July 19, 2011 Posted July 19, 2011 Berkman hits the Shea bridge to make it 4-2. Hang on guys.

Now they have to worry about middle relief or some such and who knows? And without much in the way of power --- they had a total of 19 homers in the lineup the other day after Hairy got hurt --- their offense has been modestly successful at stringing hits and walks together, and he's in the middle of every other rally subverting it.
Ceetar Grand Central Contributor Posted July 19, 2011 Posted July 19, 2011 speaking of home runs, another 'perk' to _keeping_ Beltran is he has a chance to join Bonds, Bonds, Dawson, Finley, Mays, A-Rod, and Sanders in the 300/300 club. He's at 294/292 HR/SB. might be iffy to get 8 SB for him in two months, but watching a 300/300 race could be fun too..
Guest Edgy DC Guests Posted July 19, 2011 Posted July 19, 2011 Parnell lets up two baserunners, but strikes out the white, American, and gritty Theriot.
Guest Edgy DC Guests Posted July 19, 2011 Posted July 19, 2011 Sheesh, basses loated and Kelly Leak coming up. Waddayadoo now?

Ceetar Grand Central Contributor Posted July 19, 2011 Posted July 19, 2011 Izzy in for the save. Just like we drafted him for.
bmfc1 Old-Timey Member Posted July 19, 2011 Posted July 19, 2011 Good idea--it's the bottom of the 9th, the Mets are two outs from victory, so cut away to preview the post-game show.
Ceetar Grand Central Contributor Posted July 19, 2011 Posted July 19, 2011 12 years and 13 days ago? I'd had my license for 6 weeks, was probably hanging out in a Long Island parking lot with my friends. Izzy was getting his first save.
