Gee is awesome. And yet he never seems to get respect.

There's a Kevin James vehicle in there somewhere. I can just see the trailer...

Dave was a huge fan who wanted to be acknowledged by his favorite player -- but when he threw him the game ball...EVERYTHING CHANGED!

"Hey, I'm you, and you're me!"
"And my wrist hurts!"

"ACOSTA! YOU'RE IN! YOU'RE FACING RODRIGUEZ!"
"But I'm just a fan who's magically assumed the identity of the player who tossed me a ball!"
"Quit kiddin' around and get in there and strike out A-Rod!"
"I'm not Acosta! Hey Manny! You have to cover a Board of Regents meeting Monday night!"
"Board of What????"

Mets have runners safe and secure at first and second.

Give your family the gift of a save and secure financial future.

(Feels a little forced every time.)

Me: "Please don't hit into a double play. Please don't hit into a double play. It's OK to strike out. ARGH!"

Damn double play. Would have been better off striking out.

If you didn't hear it on Fox (and who can keep the sound up?), Collins said it wasn't the same hamstring to give Jose trouble in the past; tightness and cramping.

Which is what I get watching Curtis Granderson hit.

How dare other team's players triple in our expansive, cavernous outfield?

Nothing like sticking with the pitcher for a key at-bat and then he goes out and stinks the next inning. Come on, Dill.

I think Buck just gave us the title of our movie: Manny Acosta Gets Loose.

Horrible confession: Friday night, Howie mentioned so-and-so was batting eighth for the MFYs, and I thought to myself, "who's batting ninth?"

Fucking DH. Got used to it there for a while.

Nah, you're just used to the Yankees having one.

Meanwhile, two-out dubble by Duda. Pick him up, brothers.

If ineffectual two-out doubles were love, it would be a beautiful world.

Missed nearly all of the game so as to take a nap, and take the family to a park pool. By the time I got home it had gone from 4-0 to 5-0 and the Jeter gushing had commenced. Fucking broadcasters.

Your time at the park pool was well spent.

As we walked the concourse late in the game, these made me far more irritated than hopeful. The approaches and discipline in the batter's box having been... a little intermittent, they felt like teases even as they were occurring.

The ballpark had buzz, and spirit, and electricity. And as much as I can't stand watching MFY fans idle by Mama's and bitch about the prices (REALLY?), I'd rather deal with MFY fans 20 times a year in this park than the Philthy masses that came through the last time the
Liberty Belles came through town.

I thought it was somewhat dead after the second. At least, everyone I saw was through a depressed fog once we saw Tejada.

Yankees really do have some sort of knack for pulling these random contributing players out of nowhere when they need them, just long enough. That reliever that I already forgotten by now, that hasn't allowed a run yet. They've got players hitting .240 but somehow all their hits drive in runs or they score. I think Nunez got more XBH today than Jeter did all season.

ugh all around. MLB AT BAt app reminded me when i checked in that I'm 3-5 (now 3-6) at Citi Field this year.( unlessi missed a check in)
