You know those games where the Mets string together some baserunners, then get those two-out hits, and thusly are able to pull out a close one in spite of overall offensive inertia?

This is looking like the other kind.

3-hit days when the team's getting routed, 7 LOB when they aren't. I don't mean to be all MFY-fan here... but is it me, or does the Bay give off a very mythical-clutchless-A-Rod-only-minus-the-power kind of aroma these days?

I swear the kid has looked at six or seven 1-1 strikes over the last three games he's been in. Is Duda afraid to swing at strikes when he's ahead in the count or something?

Either way... bring me a Lutz, man. I'm done with this.

No. No I don't.

I've pretty much decided that Manny Acosta sucks.

QUESTION 1:
Was pitching Air Acosta against these Rangers in a home-run-friendly park supposed to be, like, a challenge assignment from Collins?

QUESTION 2:
What time is Manny's flight tomorrow?

QUESTION 3:
Why not Frankie here? Makes just about as much sense as Acosta with the game still within reach, doesn't it?

I'm expecting Buffalo fans, after getting over the helmet color change for the Bills, will remember that they'd already decided this.

Sure seems that way. I wonder if this is the same approach he had in Buffalo when he hit 7 homers in 14 games.

Demoralizing game - we were out of it from the start.

The post-game fireworks were nice, though -

Not really. There were a couple of times that the Mets almost knocked a few in and made it closer. Reyes DP for one, and that's an out-lier for sure.

Of course, then they put Acosta in.

Pick themselves up and get after it today.
