Ceetar Grand Central Contributor Posted June 10, 2011 Author Posted June 10, 2011 Aside, my cousin just suggested on facebook that my uncle like "The Yankees". You can't wave that in my face this morning and expect me not to take my shot... I suggested that it's being renamed "Red Sox food"
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted June 10, 2011 Posted June 10, 2011 The rain delays in NY & Phil meant I was asleep before both games ended. How nice it is then to wake up and read about Boston's "7-run seventh" and about the Phils losing it in the 11th after that questionable negated HR that would have lost it for them in regulation.
Ceetar Grand Central Contributor Posted June 10, 2011 Author Posted June 10, 2011 Yankees finally hit Ortiz in the 4th. You know, gotta make those hitters uncomfortable and all.he came up next in the 7th and Singled to leadoff, and Doubled to drive in the last two runs.Jeter was reportedly really happy they played. He didn't want to lose a home game to try to get to 3000.He didn't get a hit. reached once on a fielding error by Cameron (which was a fastball down the middle, which accounts for being able to hit it as far as RF)
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted June 10, 2011 Posted June 10, 2011 He actually did get a hit late in the game; 10 to go before the world celebration begins (7 more games on the homestand).Looks like the Yanx' bullpen mess caused Girardi to stick with big CC in a vain attempt to get through that 7th inning. 1 out, 6 hits, and 4 runs later he was finally yanked for Robertson ... who promptly gave up two hits and three more runs.
metirish Old-Timey Member Posted June 10, 2011 Posted June 10, 2011 Harper is all about trading Rodriguez to the MFY to solve both clubs problems, won't happen yet though he says.

metirish Old-Timey Member Posted June 10, 2011 Posted June 10, 2011 Didn't listen this morning but laughed when I saw your tweet because it's so true.

Benjamin Grimm Old-Timey Member Posted June 10, 2011 Posted June 10, 2011 Yeah, and with Pool Zapper closing the games for the Yankees, they won't have to worry about Frankie's expensive option vesting.

I tentatively like this idea.Of course, his "problem" that the Mets have is the vesting option. I don't like any idea that treats the Mets season as a waste of time and like they aren't, and shouldn't, try to compete. I don't think he even suggests anything the Mets would want back. Just to get rid of him.
