Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted May 20, 2011 Posted May 20, 2011 BN -- We've scored just 7 runs total over the last four gamesGN -- We're 3-1 in that timeCan't keep that up forever though so it would be nice if someone other than the red-head decides it's time to start hitting.

If they can keep playing sound baseball and winning some of those games, it'll put them in a great position if/when they get healthier.
Guest Edgy DC Guests Posted May 20, 2011 Posted May 20, 2011 I just hope they (meaning Terry) don't get too caught up in the idea that the key to winnig is executing in the close ones. That's important, but let it take a back seat to bashing the ball all over the park in the not-close ones.Jerry would put the team into save mode with a one-run lead in the third, and I want to stay as far away from that thinking as possible.(Unless we can find a really effective fourth-inning guy. They're invaluable.)

He was batting .225 before his bloop hit tonight in the 8th.
Guest John Cougar Lunchbucket Guests Posted May 20, 2011 Posted May 20, 2011 Yeah the best news we could have gotten tonight was that Dickey was back.If he wasn't, ugh. We don't got much O.
Benjamin Grimm Old-Timey Member Posted May 21, 2011 Posted May 21, 2011 The thought of Angel Pagan returning doesn't exactly set my heart racing.I'm hoping that his slump expired during the time that he was hurt, but he was providing nothing.
Guest The Second Spitter Guests Posted May 21, 2011 Posted May 21, 2011 Well, they say the sign of a good team is one that keeps winning when they're not scoring a lot of runs.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted May 21, 2011 Author Posted May 21, 2011 On the other hand, the hurlers have given up just one run in the last 27 innings and that only came via a 318-1/2 foot pop-up ...... and that gives me a thought: It's entirely possible that a HR in that park wouldn't even be deep enough to be a Sac Fly in another if you had a decent enough RFer.
