Guest John Cougar Lunchbucket Guests Posted May 16, 2011 Posted May 16, 2011 He's getting blown onto the disabled list is my guess.
metirish Old-Timey Member Posted May 16, 2011 Posted May 16, 2011 My sources are telling me he asked out of the game , Alderson to give an in game interview in the third inning.
metirish Old-Timey Member Posted May 16, 2011 Posted May 16, 2011 Jesus Christ I'm taking the mikey but apparently just like Posada Wright has back problems .....
Guest John Cougar Lunchbucket Guests Posted May 16, 2011 Posted May 16, 2011 Jesus Christ I'm taking the mikey but apparently just like Posada Wright has back problems .....Jorge Posada's wife just tweeted that.
Guest Edgy DC Guests Posted May 16, 2011 Posted May 16, 2011 At some level it's a relief.And... HELLO, ZACH LUTZ.
G-Fafif Old-Timey Member Posted May 16, 2011 Posted May 16, 2011 Wright backed (npi) out of an interview with Lupica on ESPN Radio. I just assumed it was good sense.

Guest Edgy DC Guests Posted May 16, 2011 Posted May 16, 2011 Lutz, hasn't played since 4/21. So if it's a DL trip, maybe they call up Evans and move Murphy to third. Either that or Russ Adams or some crazy stab in the dark like that.
G-Fafif Old-Timey Member Posted May 16, 2011 Posted May 16, 2011 Sandy live on SNY, and I doubt it's for an update on Mejia and Young (though he's giving that right now).
G-Fafif Old-Timey Member Posted May 16, 2011 Posted May 16, 2011 Had Wright examined. MRI on the back. Tentative diagnosis stress fracture lower back. Getting second opinion. Hospital Special Surgery. Possible DL two weeks, won't know til tomorrow AM.
G-Fafif Old-Timey Member Posted May 16, 2011 Posted May 16, 2011 Still available tonight, though obviously not in lineup. Dates back to Carlos Lee play in April.
G-Fafif Old-Timey Member Posted May 16, 2011 Posted May 16, 2011 Examined end of last homestand, no problem, but continuing issues. Another back specialist to have a look.Would be non-surgical treatment.
G-Fafif Old-Timey Member Posted May 16, 2011 Posted May 16, 2011 Would be treated with 10 days of rest, "not long term."
G-Fafif Old-Timey Member Posted May 16, 2011 Posted May 16, 2011 Mets "initiative" to get back checked. Not David's. "David himself was suprised" by diagnosis.

This seems like the perfect opportunity to road-test him at the major-league level-- more pressure than September, not the ridiculously focused attention of New York in a playoff race. Also... surrounded by familiar faces.
G-Fafif Old-Timey Member Posted May 16, 2011 Posted May 16, 2011 Terry talking about guy coming in to help pick up the pieces, so apparently DL is fait accompli.
G-Fafif Old-Timey Member Posted May 16, 2011 Posted May 16, 2011 David "shocked" by diagnois, per TC.
G-Fafif Old-Timey Member Posted May 16, 2011 Posted May 16, 2011 "Severity of this thing may be something we can't deal with." --TC
metirish Old-Timey Member Posted May 16, 2011 Posted May 16, 2011 Ed Coleman shocked too , thought Wright needed nothing more than a blow.
G-Fafif Old-Timey Member Posted May 16, 2011 Posted May 16, 2011 Flushing Times reporter wants to know how this affects Hu.(Not really -- though she might be thinking it.)
G-Fafif Old-Timey Member Posted May 16, 2011 Posted May 16, 2011 "We're gonna ask other guys to pick it up, as of today," says Terry. He might have made that request a few weeks ago if that's all it took.
