Howie had it nailed in the previous inning when Terry correctly decided to stay with Young (or even Beato) to get Schnieder, since bringing in Byrdak there would only result in a worse matchup vs. Mayberry. The only thinbg he's worth doing is hanging around for Howard, but can't get it done.

Things Wayne Hagin left me baffled about during my run tonight:

The first two he never finished describing the defensive play. He made a decent recovery on the appeal play but it was only because that happened he ever got it out -- he was spiraling into one of those verbal diarreah spasms and the call snapped him out of it.

The Phils still have Herndon in the pen, he was the guy that served up the HRs in the 9th the other day (albeit meaningless ones). They probably figure to go with Kendrick for a while.
