Willets Point Old-Timey Member Posted April 11, 2011 Posted April 11, 2011 Apparently apocalyptic things are happening in Boston. Despite the baserunning efforts of Ortiz and Gonzalez, the Rays are up 9-2.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted April 12, 2011 Posted April 12, 2011 Apparently the BoSox can only beat the Yanquis.Prior to last night the Rays had scored: 1, 1, 1, 3, 1, 1, 9, 2, and 1 runs in their games (talk about your Noffense) ... but rack 'em up against Dice-K and they went for 16Other assorted stuff from last night:- Your first-place ALC [u:1qlujck6]Cleveland Indians[/u:1qlujck6] won their 8th straight. That's one against the ChiSox, three straight v Boston, three more in Seattle, and then a shut-out last night in Anaheim. Maybe they can keep this roll going long enough to get back home and start drawing some crowds over 10,000- And speaking of streaks, Seattle had lost 7 straight and were down 7-0 in the 7th at home last night v the Blue Jays ... they won 8-7 as Toronto pulled their starter after 5 innings then burned through six relievers trying to cap the game. A two-out, two-run single by the immortal Luis Rodriguez won the game.- Cards beat the D'Backs but Prince Albert goes 1-5 with a GiDP and is now 6-40 on the season (.150) with just one XBH- The Rangers started something named Alexi Ogando up against Justin Verlander and the Tiggers came out with a 2-0 win, their 9th in 10 games.- Dodgers won in San Fran amid stepped-up security. As far as I know there were no near-fatal beatings.
Guest Edgy DC Guests Posted April 12, 2011 Posted April 12, 2011 I don't know if the Orioles are for real (Hardy has just been annonced to have a strained oblique), but I'm seriously hopping aboard the Buck Showalter train. How does this guy not hold down a job?
