G-Fafif Old-Timey Member Posted February 23, 2011 Posted February 23, 2011 I have to stop using such cheap voodoo dolls. This one's five years late. St. Louis Cardinals ace Adam Wainwright injured his elbow Monday and is returning to St. Louis to have it examined by team doctors.General manager John Mozeliak said Wednesday that "things do not look encouraging" for the 2010 Cy Young Award runner-up, based on the initial evaluation by the training staff, and believed it is a "significant injury."He said the right-hander injured his elbow in Monday's bullpen session.I have nothing against Wainwright in the here and now despite his effectiveness on October 19, 2006. But if Yadier Molina accidentally slipped on a bat that got lodged up his ass, I wouldn't complain too vociferously.

Guest LeiterWagnerFasterStrongr Guests Posted February 23, 2011 Posted February 23, 2011 I'll take the under on the Cardinals now.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted February 24, 2011 Posted February 24, 2011 Confirmed, btw, by second opinion -- TJ surgery, out for season. That pretty much suxx when it's the result of first batting practice.
Guest Edgy DC Guests Posted February 26, 2011 Posted February 26, 2011 His salary is locked in for 2012 (an option that vested with his number-two Cy Young fnish in 2010), but this probably clears his 2013 $12,000,000 salary (also a vesting option) and maybe that money (or the difference between that and what he actually gets) goes into the Pujols fund.
