Guest Edgy DC Guests Posted October 14, 2010 Posted October 14, 2010 Interestingly, I was just reading about Manny Acta, and the guy is a job killer. He was the last-ever manager of the Auburn Astros, last-ever manager of the Kissimmee Cobras, and last-ever third base coach of the Monteal Expos. That's a lot of professional carnage for a guy two years younger than I am.
Guest John Cougar Lunchbucket Guests Posted October 14, 2010 Posted October 14, 2010 I read Wedge is the leading candidate for the Pirates job.

Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted October 14, 2010 Posted October 14, 2010 The weird part about this is that my confidence in picking the Mets next manager might be lower than anywhere else.

Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted October 14, 2010 Posted October 14, 2010 Yeah, remember that Washington was essentially on double-secret probation when the season started based on his admission of off-season cocaine use.Between that and the ownership change no steps have been taken up to this point to sign him beyond this season. Now the fact that they've both reached and actually advanced in the playoffs makes his status suddenly look a lot more secure but maybe the new regime has other ideas.oe: As listed in another thread, here's the current status of MLB managersTEAMMgr - Sept 10STATUS / UpdatedMgr (NEW) 2011AsB. Guest metsguyinmichigan Guests Posted October 15, 2010 Posted October 15, 2010 Tweets saying that the Mariners are about to announce Eric Wedge as their next manager. Guess Ichiro liked him.

Guest metsguyinmichigan Guests Posted October 15, 2010 Posted October 15, 2010 Where else could Bobby end up?You know the Cubs will be Quade or Ryno, Bobby ruled out the Fish himself. Mariners have Wedge. I think it's safe to say that La Russa and Girardi aren't moving.I don't see Bobby taking on a hopeless case like the Pirates unless they give him all the control he wants and a statue next to Roberto. The Brewers are supposedly all over Melvin, and even if they were not, that doesn't seem like a Bobby V kind of place. That leaves you with the Mets, Blue Jays and staying in Bristol, Conn.
