I wasn't really humbled by the **********'s 9th inning single. I only said I was out of diplomacy. Why would I be humbled by some scrub who gets hits in less than 23% of his at-bats?

Besides, it was a ground ball up the middle -- a lucky single, in other words. An unintended accident. Does anybody here really think that Frenchy the ********** was aiming to place a ground ball in between the second baseman and shortstop?

In all seriousness, if you're looking forward, you can make a case for starting Tejada over Castillo right now (not that it would be the most compelling one, but still).

If you take a good look at fact, and you're honest with yourself, there IS no reason you should pencil in Frenchy, who's neither the win-now candidate nor the look-forward candidate.

That's the problem. Tejada's ongoing performance makes that unsustainable. If you play Francoeur, it's because you sincerely think --- wisely or not --- he's the best candidate to help you win today, tomorrow be damned.

But the same argument absolutely has to lead one to give up on Tejada. And that's why a lot of us are scratching our heads. We not only disagree with Jerry; Jerry disagrees with Jerry.
