Are we to believe Parnell is really throwing 102?

102? Really? Really?

Parnell's pitching like there's a closer's job up for grabs or something. Damn!

I know those guns don't mean much taken literally, but if they did, that 102 was a Met record.

Gotta be.

No idea what happened with David. The replay did not show anything, like him coming up lame......

Oh man, I hope this is just a cramp kinda thing.

You kind of got the feeling after that bases-loaded debacle that this wasn't going to end well.[/quote:nba85ocr]

Well....
I'm Mr. Positive, but we already got our two runs.
Sad to say but if we outlast them and win, I'll be pleasantly surprised.

And I do think being unprepared for certain situations at the plate HAS to be hung on the hitting coach.
If they are there to do anything, its to remind players of the obvious.

Just peaked in on an Astros board and folks there are gaping over the 101s and 102s from Parnell, saying they haven't seen readings like that since the days when Wagner was young.
So if that IS a fast gun it's apparently not one that's always fast.

A ninth round draft choice with an ERA near nine his last year in school.

He's hit triple digits maybe two or three times this season. I haven't heard any account of him hitting 102.

I doubt all gun readings.

I know Ed Kranepool was not a great hitter, but he had real good fundamentals and a nice swing.
As silly as it might sound I would not mind seeing him get with Davis around the cage and talk hitting.

There's a hit :)
WOOT

There's no doubt in my mind, for whatever the hell that's worth, that he threw 102 before today, according to the TV reading.

Well, now I have an account.

Hit a homer, Castillo. NOW!!!!

And if Ike had any sense of Met history, he'd tell Kranepool: "What the hell could someone like you ever teach me about hitting?"

That's more or less how the teen-aged Kranepool responded in 1963 when future Hall of Famer Duke Snider tried to give Krane some batting tips. Krane wasn't joking.

Less believable: 102 on the gun, or "Bourgeois"-as-last-name?
