Jerry's holding him back for a save situation?

GO!

Reyes gets breaking balls below the knees. Hopefully these guys will bounce a few.

Fuck you, Philadelphia.

In my head, I'm throwing batteries.

Comically (well, not really) G, K & R (mostly Gary) kept insisting that Tejada was 'taking' during his first three bunt attempts there in the 9th. They thought each time he squared he had no intention of actually bunting but was merely waiting for Lidge to throw a strike and trying to pull in the Philly infield.
Not until he squared again on the 2-1 pitch did it occur to them that he was really bunting. Seemed obvious to me all along.

He's fun to watch so far.[/quote:wv4wck7e]

Fun like root canal? The Mets can't afford to carry his weak bat if they're serious about contending. He'll be fun to watch if he can raise his batting average by 50 or 60 points.

Along with bringing up Martinez (instead of, say, Duda or Evans), their playing him is-- I think-- a move that's at least halfway a looking-at-next-year thing.

Seven Mets --- Dickey, Thole, Davis, Tejada, F-Mart, Hessman and Carter all began the season on the Mets AAA team. When's the last time that happened? Before September?

Sorry guys, was more commenting on Tejada's D sparkle
than pleasure in seeing him here ... season's over ... has
been since after the all-star break.

Im sure it happend in 2003. At some point, they had to have some combo of Duncan, Garcia, Redman, Reyes, Griffith, Heilman, Feliciano, Cerda, and Roberts or others.

Probably last year as well.

(I don't think the season's over, therefore Tejada; I just think it's more true to say Tejada, therefore the season's over. I think it's even more true to say Manuel, therefore the season's over, but yadayadayada.)

Another ridiculous error leads to opening flood gates. Thank you Jose Reyes.

Carlos, yea, there's a wall there in the deep part of the outfield.
Next time stop there, reach up, and steal a homer.

Oy, what a disappointing game.

Add Dessens, Parnell and Valdes to the Mets that started in AAA this season. Deduct Tejada --- didn't Reyes begin the season on the DL? So more than a third of the current 25 man began this season in AAA.
