Guest metsguyinmichigan Guests Posted July 23, 2010 Posted July 23, 2010 Hail Seaver! Congrats, Zvon!Jerry. Do NOT let Frankie in there to screw this up.
Guest The Second Spitter Guests Posted July 23, 2010 Posted July 23, 2010 Doctor Emmett Brown on to pitch for the Dodgers....
Guest The Second Spitter Guests Posted July 23, 2010 Posted July 23, 2010 Hail Seaver! Congrats, Zvon!.[/quote:2hcd7ozj]Hail!
Guest LeiterWagnerFasterStrongr Guests Posted July 23, 2010 Posted July 23, 2010 Johan's odometer at 97 through 7.Will Jauss and the Gang stick longer than Jerry?(And a belated Mazel Tov to you, Z.)
Guest Edgy DC Guests Posted July 23, 2010 Posted July 23, 2010 Let's see if we can sacrifice without Jerry's gentle guidance.
Guest metsguyinmichigan Guests Posted July 23, 2010 Posted July 23, 2010 I forgot Jerry got tossed. I'd say that increases the odds that Johan will stay in there.
Guest Edgy DC Guests Posted July 23, 2010 Posted July 23, 2010 Did the Dodgers bring in William Zabka to pitch?
Guest LeiterWagnerFasterStrongr Guests Posted July 23, 2010 Posted July 23, 2010 Naw, that's the Dutch Boy's prick older brother. And bunting on 3-1? For fucking real?
Guest The Second Spitter Guests Posted July 23, 2010 Posted July 23, 2010 I just can't get my head around why the f#** Pagan would be bunting in that situation...
Ceetar Grand Central Contributor Posted July 23, 2010 Posted July 23, 2010 I just can't get my head around why the f#** Pagan would be bunting in that situation...[/quote:21w30g7l]Well, when the offense is struggling, try to score runs any way you can! Never mind that the reason the offense looks like it's slumping is because you're managing for one run at a time which makes big innings tough.
Guest LeiterWagnerFasterStrongr Guests Posted July 23, 2010 Posted July 23, 2010 Fear of success?I don't fucking know. It never ends.
batmagadanleadoff Old-Timey Member Posted July 23, 2010 Posted July 23, 2010 (edited) The hope here is that Wright hits a lazy fly ball out deep enough to score the runner from third but not good enough for a hit. Because if Wright homers, the play caller looks like a jackass for using Pagan to sac bunt. If Wright homers, they woulda all likely scored anyway. Edited July 23, 2010 by Guest
batmagadanleadoff Old-Timey Member Posted July 23, 2010 Posted July 23, 2010 Even Wayne Hagin is against that bunt.
Zvon Old-Timey Member Posted July 23, 2010 Posted July 23, 2010 Naw, that's the Dutch Boy's prick older brother. And bunting on 3-1? For fucking real?[/quote:w7fpol6o]2-1, but still, I also found that odd.Well, Davey does his job and Reyes scores on the sac.So it works for a run.
Guest Edgy DC Guests Posted July 23, 2010 Posted July 23, 2010 Ball one to Davis there was certainly a strike.
Guest LeiterWagnerFasterStrongr Guests Posted July 23, 2010 Posted July 23, 2010 Castillo bunted on 3-1. He just failed.Y'know, like this team's decision makers do, consistently.
Guest Edgy DC Guests Posted July 23, 2010 Posted July 23, 2010 Four walks and two sacrifices this inning. Nobody has been credited with an at-bat yet.
Guest LeiterWagnerFasterStrongr Guests Posted July 23, 2010 Posted July 23, 2010 It's like the inning that never happened, if not for all these pitching changes.See, this is how Torre gets his exercise. Very low-impact... 'cause they're all shitty.
Guest LeiterWagnerFasterStrongr Guests Posted July 23, 2010 Posted July 23, 2010 "And that, LWYP, is how this became the Jason Bay game..."
Guest The Second Spitter Guests Posted July 23, 2010 Posted July 23, 2010 Bay doubles Slick Dick for 3 ribbies.
Guest Edgy DC Guests Posted July 23, 2010 Posted July 23, 2010 See what walking brings you?Who is this Bay guy? Where did he come from?
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted July 23, 2010 Posted July 23, 2010 (edited) So how'd all those pitching changes work out there for you Joe? Edited July 23, 2010 by Guest
Zvon Old-Timey Member Posted July 23, 2010 Posted July 23, 2010 BAY!BAY!BAY!A bases loaded double, all score!Furcal having his worst game in the field EVEH!yay!
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted July 23, 2010 Posted July 23, 2010 I think this half-inning took longer than the previous four full innings combined.
batmagadanleadoff Old-Timey Member Posted July 23, 2010 Posted July 23, 2010 (edited) It's a good thing that Pagan the .300 hitter sac bunted. Not. Because all of those runners would've scored anyway. And this inning might not be over yet. Edited July 23, 2010 by Guest
Guest LeiterWagnerFasterStrongr Guests Posted July 23, 2010 Posted July 23, 2010 Insure-runs mean Santana retires to the visiting Ace's Study for smoking-jacket time. Thanks, Shitking!
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted July 23, 2010 Posted July 23, 2010 Oh, don't pinch hit![/quote:342jg9oh]I think part of the reasoning there was Santana sitting for so long.
